Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs

STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)

(SOW)

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

Title of Project:

Service Maintenance Agreement for QTRAP5500 Mass Spectrometer

Statement of Need and Purpose:

The purpose of this acquisition is to procure a service maintenance agreement for the AB SciEx QTRAP5500 Mass Spectrometer and software legacy plan. This equipment is heavily used and the National Institute on Aging (NIA), Laboratory of Clinical Investigation (LCI) have many proteomic assays that are dependent on the proper functioning of the instrument. The costs of repair, if not under a maintenance agreement, would be high and would result in significant downtime for processing a purchase order and for scheduling repair, which would result in a significant delay in the processing of samples and would hamper ongoing research as the proteomic assays that are run on this instrument can’t be run on any other instrument.

Background Information and Objective:

The NIA, LCI requires the use of this instrument to do proteomic assays of plasma and csf samples in the lab. This agreement is needed to maintain equipment as well as to remedy unforeseen breakdowns of the equipment. Emergency repairs are needed, at times, which can result in significant delays. The maintenance agreement should allow for guaranteed on site repair two (2) business days (re. Assurance 2 pm Plan for the QTRAP5500 Mass Spectrometer) allowing for only minimal disruption in the workflow.

Period of Performance:

July 25, 2021 to July 24, 2022
