A key component of this research to identify biomarkers for long-time drug abuse and other disease models in order to understand the underlying biochemistry mechanism which will enable better medical treatment. To accomplish these goals, NIDA uses mass spectrometry specifically, high mass resolution ESI and MALDI orbitrap mass spectrometers. Proper maintenance is necessary to ensure full operation of this equipment and for the SBU to fulfill its research goals.

2. Purpose and Objectives The Structural Biology Unit (SBU) at the NIDA IRP was established for the purpose of developing new technology and methods to analyze and measure biomolecules (drugs, lipids, peptides, and proteins). To accomplish these goals, the SBU uses mass spectrometry specifically, high mass resolution ESI and MALDI orbitrap mass spectrometers. The purpose of this requirement is to provide the SBU with service maintenance agreement for the LTQ Orbitrap Velos Mass Spectrometer and the LTQ Orbitrap XL Mass Spectrometer

3. Period of Performance

1) The estimated period of performance for LTQ Orbitrap Velos with ETD (Serial # SN03099B) will be:

Base Period: June 1, 2019 through May 31, 2020.

2) The estimated period of performance for LTQ Orbitrap XL 60Hz (Serial # SN01566B) will be Base Period: June 1, 2019 through May 31, 2020 Option Period 1: June 1, 2020 through May 31, 2021 Option Period 2: June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022
