About this file
This document contains responses to questions regarding a federal solicitation for emergency ground ambulance transportation services. The solicitation is seeking emergency medical services ground ambulance transportation from the Hopi Health Care Center in Polacca, Arizona to off-reservation medical centers and air ambulance rendezvous points located 69 to 130 miles away. The services are needed to supplement existing emergency response provided within the Hopi Reservation boundaries. Certification is preferred but not required for the ambulance services. Housing is not available at present for two 24/7 ambulance units as requested in the solicitation. There is interest in critical care ground ambulance services but the current statement of work only requires advanced life support services. The requirement is on a firm-fixed price basis to address needs resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The soliciting agency is the Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service.

Response to Questions:
1. Is CAAS Accreditation required?
Certification is preferred.
1. The solicitation mentions 1-2 ALS ambulances 24/7. Are there crew quarters and ambulance garage space for 2 units?
We do not have housing for the ambulances at present (per Dr. Vicenti). 2 bedroom apartment is $30.46/night – located in Keams Canyon 13 miles west of HHCC.
1. Is there any interest in Critical Care level ground ambulance service? As you know, this would allow us to bring vented patients (or patients on drips, etc.) to flight crews, eliminating the need for flight crews to ride in with the ALS ambulance crew.
There is interest, however the services requested in the current SOW is what is needed at present.
1. Also, it appears that this is a firm, fixed price quote, correct?
Yes, Firm Fixed Price
