About this file
This document provides guidance for contractor access to Naval Base Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida in support of repairs and maintenance services for the USCGC VALIANT. Contractors must submit visitor access requests at least four weeks in advance of arrival including personal details, dates, and purpose of visit. Upon approval, contractors should arrive at the back commercial gate between 0600-1400 on Mondays through Fridays with two forms of identification. Passes are valid for 30 days and must be renewed in-person. The solicitation seeks quotations for dockside repairs and maintenance services for the USCGC VALIANT between November 4, 2020 and December 30, 2020. CGC VALIANT’s Contractor Access Best Practices
BASE MAYPORT
Complete the Vendor Access Request Form with each member’s information requiring base access to Naval Base Mayport.
4 weeks before arrival date, submit above word document with MBR’s information to USCGC VALIANT POC: ENS Alexander Broomfield –
Alexander.P.Broomfield@uscg.mil with LT Christopher Varrichio cc’d- Christopher.J.Varrichio@uscg.mil
This will be submitted to and reviewed by Naval Station Mayport Security Department.
Below are CGC VALIANT’s common experiences to get contractors on base and Vehicles access to the pier. All of this is subject to change at the discretion of Navy Base Security.
Upon confirmation of receipt, base access will be review authorized and contractors to arrive Monday-Friday 0600-1400 contractors are to proceed to the back/commercial gate the morning of authorized starting date. The back/commercial gate is located down A1A approximately 1 mile and on the right and just before Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Annex. Persons must bring 2 forms of ID, none of which have expired, and wait to speak with one of the base security members. If a contractor is not an American Citizen, they will need to provide their green card card.
Additional paperwork needed:
*On Company’s Letter Head*
-Work order dated for date same day as base access request.
-Include base address: Naval Station Mayport Jacksonville FL, 32227
-Point of Contact with phone number
-Name of each person requesting access.
- Destination and what type of work.
Vehicle access to the Pier:
* No Personal vehicles are allowed on the pier.
If requiring Pier Access, Commercial vehicle must have current registration, insurance card, and all drivers must have current licenses. You must specifically request a PINK PASS – ALFA/BRAVO GATE (Preferred) which is located directly in front of the ship. The green pass is on the complete other end of the base and will you to drive around the entire basin. Don’t accept a green pass.
*Passes are only valid for 30 days. Renewal requires each member to visit the Base Security Office with old base pass to renew.
Most contractors find it takes the better part of a day to get through security and arrive onsite. Highly encourage contractors to anticipate this delay.
