About this file
This document includes an amendment to a solicitation for dock-side repairs of the USCGC VALIANT. The amendment provides responses to questions from potential offerors. It clarifies that for work items involving tank cleaning, the cutter will have pumped down tanks as much as possible but may still contain residual liquids up to the amounts specified in each work item. Offerors will be responsible for removing all liquids present in the tanks. The period of performance for the repairs is from November 4, 2020 through December 30, 2020. The solicitation is seeking quotes from contractors to perform various repair and maintenance work aboard the cutter during its dockside maintenance period at an unspecified location.

VALIANT DOCKSIDE REPAIRS FY21
AMENDMENT A00002
Response to Questions/Requests for Clarification:
Question #1: In reference to Work Item 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7 will the tanks be turned over to the contractor at the low suction amount advertised in the table?
Answer #1: The cutter normally has the tanks pumped down as much as possible, but it is hurricane season, so cutters have to keep a certain amount of fuel onboard, in each one of those work items, it gives to the amount of liquids that the tanks may have in them and the contractor will have to be responsible to remove that amount.
