1.0 General Test Requirements

1.1 Readings as detailed in this Appendix are to be followed as per OEM standards for dynamometer testing. These recordings of the test procedure shall be filled out and submitted as part of the required test report. The contractor may use a similar test report in lieu of this report as long as the same information contained in this appendix is included.

1.2 Each engine shall be fitted with a lube oil filter. The engine shall be filled with MIL-L- 2104F compatible grade lube oil particular to that piece of equipment. The fuel oil shall be as per ASTM D 975 Rev C # 2 diesel and flow through an OEM filter/separator before entering engine fuel pump. The cooling system shall be filled with clean potable water. An outside clean potable water source shall be used as raw water-cooling. All engine lube oil filter elements shall be replaced with new after completion of engine dynamometer test. Old filter elements shall be cut open and inspected for foreign material.

1.3 The engine shall be dynamometer tested with transmission and all applicable hang on attachments. Exhaust blankets are not required to be attached during dynamometer test.

1.4 The horsepower reading is read as shaft horsepower at the prime mover output flange.
