Solicitation 70Z03819QB2000003 Q&A

Q) Is there a current existing contract for this effort or is this a new requirement?

A) This is a new requirement and no current existing contract effort is available to be shared.

Q) Will the solicitation be extended due to the partial government shutdown affecting

USCG?

A) Yes. The solicitation is re-opened and extended until 15 February 2019.

Q) Is the solicitation sole source to a particular vendor?

A) Yes. USCG intends to award the resulting contract to Ametek Thermal Systems, Inc. on an other than full and open competition basis as identified in the body of the solicitation posted on

FedBizOpps. Please note that under Federal Acquisition Provision 52.212-2 – Evaluation –

Commercial Items (OCT 2014), provided on page 3 of the Terms and Conditions attached to the solicitation, it states “Should the Government receive responsive offers from responsible sources authorized by the OEM to provide the services, the solicitation will be amended accordingly to consider any offers received.”

Q) Is there more technical documentation available to help evaluate the possibility of providing a response to the solicitation?

A) Please refer to sections 2.1.1 through 2.5.1 of the SOW to find instructions on how to obtain copies of the listed documents. Currently there are no documents referenced in the SOW that

USCG can provide (subject to change based on determination of USCG Approved Engineering

Changes review).

Q) Can copies of the USCG Approved Engineering Changes as identified in Statement of

Work (SOW) section 2.1.1.2 be provided?

A) No; it has been determined the documents referenced in SOW section 2.1.1.2 due not apply to the Heat Exchanger repairs in this solicitation and this section has been removed. The revised

SOW is attached.

Q) Due to the weight of the Pressure Gauges, would it be possible to install them on the

Mount into the Headers of the Evaporator and Condensor vice the High and Low Pressure

Lines directly?

A) Yes; as long as the lines can be installed and the Gauges do not interfere with anything in the surrounding area.
