# Vendor Question Government Response

Would you want the cognitive training program to work on a laptop, desktop, or tablet – or is any of these options totally fine (I’m curious about preference)?

In accordance with SOW Section 2.1.6 training location is limited to a single 10'x10' cubicle that does not support desktops. Laptops and tablets are equally acceptable as are extend reality headsets.

As part of the pilot test of cognitive training with Coast Guard personnel, can our team / the contractors be involved (help out) in the design of the study?

SOW 2.2 allows contractors to propose their training methodology. SOW 2.3 paragraph 2 allows for contractors to work with Lead USCG Researcher on specific metrics to be collected. Contractor can have limited involvement to discuss with the Lead USCG Researcher the current design and suggest improvements. No sensitive information will be shared with the contractor.

During the pilot research study, does the USCG Research intend to include pre- and post-training tests of response inhibition, either with standard cognitive tasks (e.g., Continuous Performance Tasks) or with more coast guard specific skills tests?

Provided that cognitive training has pre- and post-training tests, then those may be include into the experimental design. The Coast Guard may conduct tests outside the scope of the contract to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.

4 What is the expected start date and period of performance?

The start date and period of performance will be the date of contract award.

It appears that the Cognitive Training Program should function and save training data in a central place (server) via a Verizon mobile hotspot; would you prefer that the server be physically located on premise with the Coast Guard, in a cloud, or at the contractor’s facility?

The Government's intent is that the Lead USCG Researcher can access and download any and all training data using an ADMIN account to the data server. Otherwise, weekly data updates are required (SOW 2.3). The Lead USCG Researcher will have access to the training data once the first single fully functioning cognitive training system (device & trainee account) is provided to the the COR on October 24, 2022. The server in the cloud or at the contractor's facility is acceptable. However, we cannot support the server on premise with the Coast Guard.

After the project ends, is it expected that the Coast Guard will retain the equipment and software for continued use?

SOW 2.1 requirement 6 table column header Delivery Approach is changed to “Internet Browser or Software with a license of at least 7 months." SOW 2.3 Task Three, "By the conclusion of the training or training license, the Government will ship the Contractor’s hardware back to the Contractor." SOW 4.2 "The period of performance for this contract is seven months from the date of award or until the end of the cognitive training license expiration date." Therefore, the equipment and software will be returned to the contractor at the later of seven months or expiration of the training license.
