Questions and Answers 14 February 2023
1) How many miles are on the current 2020 Chevrolet Suburban?
Approximately 20,000.
2) How many miles are anticipated to be driven, per year, on the new Chevrolet Suburban LT, or equivalent?
Approximately 10,000 miles/year.
3) Will the Government be responsible for tags and registration?
Yes.
4) Will the Government be responsible for insurance throughout the life of the lease?
Yes. The Government is self-insured.
5) Will the Government be responsible for maintenance throughout the life of the lease?
Yes. We will do routine maintenance.
6) Will the USSS be adding special equipment to this vehicle?
There will be some limited equipment installation that may cause some minor damage to the interior and exterior of the vehicle. Emergency lighting will be installed above the windshield, above the rear window, and above the windows of the cargo area. Emergency lights will also be installed in the front grill, in the area of the rear license plate, and on the running boards. Reading lights will be installed in the interior next to the second-row seats. Radio equipment will also be installed in the glove box or center console which may leave small “screw” holes.
7) Are there any other requirements, such as tinting?
We will tint the vehicle ourselves.
8) Considering the current vehicle shortage, would a slightly older Chevrolet Suburban LT be acceptable? If so, what is the maximum mileage that would be considered?
Up to 15,000 miles would be acceptable, but since it will be designated as a “limousine,” it needs to be in excellent condition.
9) When you say new vehicle, would you specify which vehicles qualify? …low mile 2021, 2022 or factory new 2023?
2022 or 2023 could qualify… as long as it has less than 15,000 miles and is in excellent condition.
