Questions and Answers

Date: April 9, 2018 Solicitation No. 70B03C18Q00000067 Satellite Phone Service and Monitoring

1. Question: Is there an incumbent contractor?

Answer: Yes. The current service provider is:

CASE Systems, Inc.

5 Goddard Irvine, CA 92618

2. Question: Will the Government please provide a detailed technical description of the remote call box to include how monitoring and diagnostics are currently provided?

Answer: As stated in Section III.3, Scope of Work, the satellite phone call boxes requiring service are Iridium Lexan phones. The part number is 6000-0100-91.

Remote monitoring and diagnostics are currently provided through the use of vendor-provided software that has been installed in the call boxes.

3. Question: For Line Item #10 “Quantity” showing 1.000, then “Unit” as “AU,” what is “AU”? Why don’t the line items quantities and units in Sections I.1 and I.4 match?

Answer: “AU” stands for Activity Unit. The sections don’t match because the schedule in Section I.1 reflects how the government will fund the contract while the schedule in Section I.4 reflects how the contract is priced. Quoters shall provide pricing in Section I.4 only. Pricing should not be entered in Section I.1.
