Questions and Answers during Advertisement for CA PRA LABE 10(1) Main Road

November 29, 2021

Questions Answers 1 On the title sheet, the index to sheet lists A.11 and A.12, as well as C.16 through C.19. These sheets are not included with the plan set, are they missing?

The Index to Sheets was incorrect. See Amendment A001 for a corrected index to sheets.

2 After speaking to the maintenance supervisor no additional water will be available beyond the 5,000 gallon daily limit from the hydrant as described in section 105.02 of the specs. It appears that the well or pump is insufficient to provide us with the additionally required water. Are there any other government provided water sources available?

No additional Government water will be provided beyond the 5,000 gallons a day. The contractor is able to provide their own storage tank on site if they choose to. 5000 gallons of water can be pulled from the government source 7 days a week.

3 Item A1320 embankment construction has a 1300 M3 quantity and the only details or notes relating to embankment correlate with the concrete and ABA compliance work. There does not appear to be any excavation or fill required at these locations unless under the concrete work. With the concrete and ABA surface area measurements the embankment would be more than a meter deep. Is the A1320 embankment quantity incorrect? If the quantity is correct what material will be used as fill as there are no cross sections for borrow material?

The embankment quantity shown in the plans is for the contractor to re-grade the visitor center parking lot to allow for the flow to be towards the southwest corner of the parking lot. We assumed the grade will be raised approx. 30cm along the northern end of the parking lot and re-graded to allow the water to flow to the southwest corner. During construction, the contractor will need to submit a plan, including cross sections and embankment quantities, for the parking lot.

4 Schedule V item V1260 40101-5600 Superpave Pavement has a quantity of 19,122 tonnes with an allowance of 1,078 for 3.6 km of roadway. The quantity appears to be 12,200 tonnes too many for a 100mm pave depth 8.1 meters wide. Is this a mistake in bid item quantity?

Yes, it is an error. Please refer to Amendment A002.

5 Bid items V1340, V1360, and V1380 appear to be overstated by more than 200%. Is this a bid item quantity error please advise?

Yes, it is an error. Please refer to Amendment A002.
