About this file
This solicitation is for a highway construction project located on State Route 94 near the San Diego National Wildlife Refuge in San Diego County, California. The project involves intersection and safety improvements at SR94 and Millar Ranch Road, including extended turn lanes, improved sight distance, centerline rumble strips, and new pavement markings. Additional work includes constructing a new parking lot on adjacent wildlife refuge property. Major work elements are roadway excavation, placement of borrow material, subbase, aggregate base, asphalt pavement, an ultra-thin bonded wearing course, and pavement markings. Significant quantities listed include approximately 3,400 cubic yards of roadway excavation, 2,500 cubic yards of unclassified borrow, 2,000 cubic yards of subbase, 2,430 tons of aggregate base, 1,222 tons of hot asphalt concrete pavement, and 470 tons of ultra-thin bonded wearing course. A notice to proceed for on-site activity will be issued in late summer 2019 at the discretion of the Federal Highway Administration Central Federal Lands Highway Division.
