About this file
This is an Addendum #1 to Request for Proposals #66-27012 SB issued by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Purchasing Office for Campus-Wide Beverage Vending and Pouring Rights. The addendum updates the location of the mandatory pre-proposal conference and site visit scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 10:30 AM ET, relocating it from the previously announced Auxiliary Services Building to the Keith Wassum Room (#224) in South Village Crossing Dining Hall (Building #82) at 8917 Wilson Alumni Way, Charlotte, NC. Following the initial gathering, a shuttle will provide campus tours with return transportation to South Village Parking Deck by approximately 1:00 PM. Proposals are due by 2:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 22, 2026, with contract award expected December 15, 2026. The contract term is ten years, effective July 5, 2027, through July 4, 2037. The scope encompasses campus-wide beverage vending and pouring rights consolidating current fragmented arrangements (Coca-Cola for athletics; Pepsi for dining and vending) into a single beverage partner providing exclusive pouring rights for 114 existing machines across academic buildings, 19 residence halls, administrative buildings, dining locations, libraries, and four athletics venues, covering all non-alcoholic beverage categories.
Parking is available at South Village Parking Deck (8880 Johnson Alumni Way) with EV charging stations on levels 1, 2, and 3. Bidders must submit a signed copy of this addendum with their proposal. The financial proposal carries 35 of 100 evaluation points and must include upfront consideration, annual sponsorship and marketing funding, commissions and rebates, performance incentives, equipment and capital investment, and transparent pricing schedules with annual escalation terms. Additional evaluation criteria include vendor background and qualifications (5 points), beverage supply and operational approach (20 points), athletics and campus marketing activation (20 points), campus engagement and sustainability (5 points), and transition and implementation (15 points). Bidders must be registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State, provide three customer references, demonstrate financial stability, maintain comprehensive insurance, and complete background checks. Pre-proposal conference attendance is limited to three representatives per vendor with no late arrivals permitted. The University reserves the right to carve out individual beverage categories or award to multiple vendors if greater financial or strategic value is achieved.
