608-24-108

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The work includes but is not limited to provide all equipment, tools, labor, and support services for removal, repair, & restoration installation of new polyurethane roof coating system from Trimco. This project will include, but is not limited to, all work including construction administration, demolition, and installation of roof on building #1 kitchen (roof 8 – 8A) for the project. All work is to meet the requirements of Architectural Barriers Act (ABA). This project will also include HVAC to the Kitchen area in bldg. 1, N110.

The scope of works includes but is not limited to the demolition and removal of existing roofs, metal roof deck repairs, installation of new roofs and safety roof railings, installation of new lightning rod system where needed. Trimco product is used to maintain integrity of the original roof warranty. These areas are all clearly shown on the VA provided plans. Also look at the possibility of raising the roof area around HVAC unit so water doesn’t pool around unit.

Basically, these roofs are the lower roofs of building 1. Accessibility is gained through a door in the chapel office N268, access to roof 8A is difficult due to the location. The access for roof 8A will be from the roof above building 20, minimal access can be through a window on the 2nd floor. The old ambulance location can be used as the staging area and disposal location. Diagram drawing attached shows the locations for work.

The VA shall be considered the Architect of record and all RFI’s and submittals shall be sent to them for resolution through the Contracting Officer (CO).

After Contract Award the Contractor is required to provide a Payment Bond, a Performance Bond and an Insurance certificate within 10 days. Once received and confirmed, the period of performance for the above-mentioned project will begin with a Notice to Proceed (NTP) issued at a Pre- Construction Meeting (Pre-Con) and shall not exceed 180 days after NTP. As part of this solicitation the General Contractor (GC) shall submit a preliminary schedule using Procore showing the methodology for accomplishing the project.
