About this file
Addendum No. 2 for Project/Bid No. 6041A is issued by the City of Aurora's Finance Purchasing Services Department for a post and cable fencing project at Buckley Buffer Parcels 5 & 9 in Colorado. The addendum modifies the original contract specifications, specifically changing the surveying responsibility from the contractor to the City of Aurora. The document provides clarifications on several project details, including confirmation that no signage or bollards are included in the project, instructions to remove existing post and wire fencing, requirements for ground rods along power poles, cable splicing permissions, and cable tension guidelines.
The addendum addresses bidder questions regarding project specifics, noting that the city will perform a survey and mark the fence line, with some new fencing sections potentially following the existing fence route. The project involves approximately 8,700 feet of fencing connected to two existing tube gate locations, with cable splicing allowed to reduce waste. There are no specific measurable tension requirements for the cable, though it should be taut and horizontal with minimal slack. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum on their bid forms to be considered responsive to the invitation for bids.

This Addendum No. 2 forms a part of the Contract Documents and is issued for the following:
1) Provide the following modification to ATTACHMENT B SPECIFICATIONS, PART 3 – EXECUTION, 3.12 Surveying:
From:
The Contractor shall be responsible for researching, surveying and monumenting the City’s property line.
Surveying shall be by a surveyor licensed in the State of Colorado.
To:
The City of Aurora shall be responsible for researching, surveying and monumenting the City’s property line.

2) Provide answers to questions received prior to the written question deadline.
Q1: In the document ATTACHMENT B - SPECIFICATIONS, under section 2.05, it states that "Sign panels shall be .080” thick aluminum plate with graphics as shown on the plans of reflective material." However, I couldn’t find the drawings in the plans that indicate what the graphics should look like. If I missed this, could you please point me in the right direction?
A1: No signage is included in this project.
Q2: Similarly, under Pipe Bollards, it mentions, “Pipe Bollards shall be 5” diameter schedule 40 steel pipe, filled with concrete. Bollards shall be galvanized after cable loops are welded to the pipe.
Apply 2” wide strips of yellow reflective tape around the pipe in two locations as shown on the plans.” I couldn’t locate where these details are shown in the plans. Could you clarify or confirm if I overlooked them?

A4: Yes.
Q5: Are we able to splice the cable to reduce cable waste?
A5: Yes.
Q6: What will be the required tension for the cable?

Q7: There is a mention of 5" bollards as well as gates. Where are the bollards needed and how many will be needed? Are there any gates?
A7: No bollards are included in this project. There are two existing tube gate locations that the new fencing will be connected to. No new gates will be required.
Q8: Will the new fence be built on the same line as the existing fence, or will a survey need to be completed to mark the right-of-way and property lines?
A8: The city will perform a survey and mark the fence line. Some sections of the new fencing may be on the same line as the existing fence.
