About this file
This specification document outlines vehicle and equipment requirements for the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners' animal control van procurement project. The County seeks three medium-roof cargo vans with a minimum 148-inch wheelbase to replace existing vehicles. Each van must be equipped with a V6 or greater gas engine, comprehensive safety and comfort features including power mirrors, fog lights, blind spot monitoring, and a Class III trailer hitch with sway control. The vehicles require interior customization with grey vinyl upholstery, white exterior color, and a 1,500-watt inverter system. All vans must be delivered with new Hillsborough County Florida registration and tags, including temporary documentation and overnight shipping of all paperwork handled by the dealer. The project estimate is $270,000.00, indicating an average cost of approximately $90,000 per vehicle.
The animal cage assembly specifications require insulated, temperature-controlled compartments with A/C distribution to each cage, seamless treadplate flooring with spray-in bedliner protection, and a partition separating the front cabin from the rear animal containment area. Additional specifications include four white LED corner lights with independent toggle activation, a 1,200-watt minimum power inverter with fused control switch, drain systems for washout capabilities, and storage integrated with file cabinets. The dealer assumes full responsibility for vehicle delivery logistics, offload arrangements, and quarterly build-status updates throughout the procurement process. All wiring and equipment installations must comply with manufacturer guidelines and general OEM practices, with strict adherence to safety standards for circuit protection and cable management.
