About this file

This is a Solicitation Addendum (Addendum 02) issued by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction for Invitation for Bid (IFB) 52-IFB-2408150973-CRR regarding canned diced tomatoes. The solicitation seeks USDA Grade B canned diced tomatoes in #10 cans (six cans per case) with diced tomatoes cut to 1" × 1" × 3/4" dimensions, medium texture, and a minimum drained weight of 63.5 ounces per can for the Central Warehouse in Raleigh, North Carolina. The estimated annual quantity is 15,232 cases with a minimum order of 952 cases or the vendor's stated truckload quantity if smaller. The bid opening is scheduled for October 27, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET via Microsoft Teams. The initial contract term is one year from the effective date of execution, with the State retaining options to renew for up to two additional one-year terms upon thirty days' written notice.

This addendum addresses vendor questions regarding NC eProcurement fees, USDA Grade B certification requirements, product specifications, and delivery logistics. Vendors must provide products with a minimum shelf life of six months at delivery and maintain compliance with NSF, UL, ASME, AGA, USDA, and FDA standards. Pricing must be firm for ninety days from the contract effective date and include all transportation costs on an FOB Destination basis, with delivery required within thirty calendar days of purchase order receipt. The prior awarded vendor was Robbins Sales Co. Inc. under a contract valued at $327,183.36 awarded in July 2023. Vendors must be registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State, maintain financial stability, provide three customer references, and submit current product labels with nutritional and allergen information. The State reserves the right to award to a single vendor or make separate awards to different vendors, waive minor informalities, reject all bids, or cancel the solicitation if determined to be in the State's best interest.
