About this file

This document is an Important Bid Addendum issued by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NC DAC) for a Pot Sink Glove procurement, with Bid Number 52-IFB-1669762914-SJD. The bid is scheduled to open on August 25th, 2025, at 2:00 PM ET, and includes responses to vendor questions submitted by August 18th, 2025. The addendum provides clarifications on glove specifications, including single glove weight (approximately 10 oz), pair weight (approximately 20 oz), and embossing requirements for grip areas.

The document addresses various vendor inquiries about the glove characteristics, such as acceptable embossing patterns, brand equivalency, and interior color. Notably, the state indicates that only permanent tariffs should be included in bid pricing, with temporary tariff surcharges to be reviewed on an individual basis. Vendors are instructed to present any temporary tariff surcharge implications with documented evidence for review. The addendum references Section 5.1 Specifications for minimum product requirements and suggests that functional equivalents may be considered for certain glove characteristics.

Is the tariff surcharge to be included in the price or include as a surcharge on the invoice?

Only permanent tariffs are to be included in the bid pricing.

Temporary tariff surcharges are currently being reviewed on an individual basis. Any proposed temporary tariffs surcharge should not be included in your bid pricing. If a temporary tariff surcharge is implemented, any tariff surcharge associated with purchases shall be provided by way of a percentage tariff surcharge. The vendor needs to present temporary tariff surcharge implications specific to related commodities with evidence of submitted documentation of effected MSRP products in a formal notice to the Contact Lead for review.

Any temporary surcharge will be reviewed and must be mutually agreed upon by both parties. Mutually agreed upon tariff surcharges shall be added to the Purchase Order as a separate line item.

Is the orange interior a mandatory requirement, or will a functional equivalent (e.g. different color but same quality, thickness, and grip) be accepted?

Please reference Section 5.1 Specifications as this section lists the minimum specifications.
