About this file

The document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) #501-21 issued by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS), and the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission (OTIC). The RFP represents a public-private initiative to install, operate, and maintain Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations at various state-owned facilities throughout Ohio, with funding support from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency's Diesel Mitigation Trust Fund.

The RFP seeks to install a total of 26 publicly accessible, networked Level 2 EV Charging Stations across multiple sites, including state parks, district headquarters, and government facilities. The contract will have an initial five-year term with optional one-year extensions. Funding is available through the Volkswagen Mitigation Trust Fund, with $250,000 set aside specifically for state parks and government facilities. Reimbursement rates are $7,500 per single-port networked charger or $15,000 per dual-port networked charger, covering up to 100% of eligible project costs for government-owned properties. Proposers can bid on any number of sites, with proposals encompassing all sites receiving higher scoring. The selected vendor will be responsible for installation, operation, maintenance, and supporting the charging infrastructure, with requirements including networked chargers, ADA compliance, 5-year warranties, and ongoing usage reporting.
