About this file
This document is a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for mold remediation services at the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Academy in New London, Connecticut. The USCG is citing 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(2) - Unusual and Compelling Urgency as the basis for a sole source procurement, as the spread of black mold in the Rowing Center and Mail Center poses an immediate safety threat to personnel. The procurement is for $35,388 to provide mold remediation, including air containment, air purification, removal of contaminated insulation, and decontamination of the affected areas. The USCG selected Premier Home Improvement LLC dba Giordano Restoration, the closest available contractor in SAM.gov, to perform the work at the earliest possible time. The contract was awarded on May 2, 2024.
