QUESTIONS & ANSWERS TO SOLICITATION #483-10MR-5367

Simulated Gas Trainer

Beaver, WV

Following are questions and answers received in response to the above-referenced solicitation:

1. What is the maximum number of training sessions you would conduct at one time on the wireless network?

We could have two (2) training sessions going at the same time with as many as six (6) people with training detectors.

2. How many users will need to be trained onsite and will they be available at the same time for this training?

We will have four (4) instructors trained and they will be training a maximum of two (2) mine rescue teams. Each mine rescue team could have eight (8) members with three (3) having gas training detectors.

3. What is the average annual number of students you expect to train with this system?

Approximately 10,000

4. What is the maximum number of days you expect to use the system annually?

200 days

5. Can a vendor submit multiple pricing options? For example: 1) Yearly price, 2) Multi-year price and/or 3) Unlimited license price?

This is a firm, fixed price contract as stated in the solicitation and is a one time purchase with no options for yearly, or multi-years pricing. There is no unlimited license price.

6. Will you conduct any training sessions outside of the facility (i.e. in a field)?

We may conduct sessions outside the facility, but it would be rare.

7. What is the expected contract award date/decision date?

All quotes are due August 20, 2010 by 11:00 a.m. EST. An award will be made after all proposals have been evaluated, hopefully by the middle of September, 2010.

8. What is the expected installation date?

We would like to have this installed by the end of October 2010.
