GSA Hanley Space Relocation Construction Project
Request for Information - Questions & Answers Solicitation No.: 47PC1120R0010
Question1: Please clarify what is meant by the “Aluminum/Glazing in the door material column of the door schedule on Sheet AE601. Are these doors to be Aluminum with full glazing? If so why are they shown to be painted in the Finish Column? Ordinarily, Aluminum doors are hung in Aluminum frames and not Hollow Metal.
Answer 1: ALUM/GLAZ indicates aluminum doors with full glass as indicated Type FG Detail 1.
PNT finish merely indicates they are to be pre-finished with coating as specified. Doors 1453, 14555, 1456, 1458, 1459, 1460, 1461 should be listed as ALUM not HM.
Question 2: Please advise if a space will be provided at loading dock for a dumpster for duration of project.
Answer 2: It is anticipated that a loading dock space for a dumpster will be provided for this project. Successful bidder should discuss dimensions with property management prior to delivery so space can be allocated appropriately.
Question 3: Detail 3-AE501 identifies replacing missing/ Damaged or destroyed Sleeve Gaskets. Please provide Quantity and specification.
Answer 3: 12 total will be required.
Question 4: Detail7 AE501 is the section detail at PTAC enclosures without PTACS. Please provide drawing identifying locations.
Answer 4: Approx. 90 linear feet of cabinet requires new insulation. Locations are between PTACs.
Question 5: Specifications identify performing disrupting work off hours. With occupants on both sides of the projects, is it assumed that project will be performed off hours?
Answer 5: As stated only loud and disruptive work is needed to be performed after hours, close proximity to the Judge’s Chambers should be considered during demolition and construction. It is our opinion that there are many tasks that can still take place during normal work hours. It is not as sensitive as if it was located adjacent to a courtroom however work will need to be coordinated. There are telework and off hour possibilities that may be considered for Judges staff accommodations.
Question 6: Floor protection will be installed while work is being performed. Can it remain in place for duration of project or would it be required to be removed and reinstalled on a daily basis?
Answer 6: Floor protection can remain in place for the duration of the project. If, at any time, GSA deems the floor protection in need of repair/replacement due to damage/safety concerns the contractor will be required to replace the floor protection in question.
Question 7: I would to get clarification on the Key Personnel resumes if we are allowed to use our format or are we to use Attachment C?
Answer 7: You may use whichever format you prefer, as long as it has the same information that the Resume Format that we attached in the solicitation has. If you are missing any information, you risk being rated as "unacceptable".
