ADDENDUM NO. 1

Project: Social Security Administration Barrier Wall Project James M. Hanley Federal Building and Courthouse 10 South Clinton Street Syracuse, NY 13024

Date of Issue: September 19, 2017

TO ALL BIDDERS: The following additions, deletions, and/or changes or clarifications to the drawings, specifications, and bidding documents for this project, shall become and are hereby made part of the Contract Documents. They change the original documents only in the manner and to the extent stated.

Each bidder shall acknowledge receipt of this ADDENDUM in the appropriate location on the bid proposal form.

This ADDENDUM consists of seven (7) pages, including this page, plus two (2) attachments. All requirements of the original Specifications and Drawings and previous Addendum, if applicable, shall remain in force except as noted by this ADDENDUM.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS ADDENDUM IS TO CHANGE THE

FOLLOWING ITEMS:

1.0 SPECIFICATIONS

1.1 SECTION 001100 – SUMMARY: Paragraph 1.4.1B.7 – DELETE the last sentence.

1.1.1 Paragraph 1.4.1 – ADD the following paragraphs:

“3. The Qualified Mover shall be responsible for relocating items such as those listed below and shall not be restricted to the listing, as there may be additional items. Once the contract is awarded, the Government will provide a more detailed listing.

a) Two to three boxes per employee

b) All employee seating

c) Small tables used for facsimile equipment, forms etc.

d) Mail stations which usually consists of two tables, sorting credenza and mail meter

e) Swapping out articulating tables with pre-existing tables in 5th floor IVT room.

f) Disposal of old IVT tables

g) Guards Desk and chair

h) Full file cabinets to designated secure storage room

i) All supplies in existing stock room (i.e., boxed paper, forms, pamphlets, general supplies, equipment toner)

j) Shredders

k) Storage cabinets

l) Stock room shelving

m) Disposal of old LAN racks once new are in place

n) Magazine racks

o) Flag and flagpole

p) Office paintings/pictures/poster (some may need to be un-anchored from the walls)

q) Private interview room suite – desk, chair, small table

r) Waste-paper baskets and recycle bins

4. All items will have a location designated unless it is a waste product.

5. Systems Furniture: Unicor Office Furniture Group (SSA furniture vendor) shall relocate all of the system furniture; remove existing workstations from the site; and supply & install new furniture and demountable wall systems on a designated date to be scheduled after the contract has been awarded and a project schedule has been submitted and approved.

6. Computer Equipment: Reliasource, Inc. (SSA vendor) will relocate all computer equipment (Laptops, desktops, printers, monitors etc.) on a designated date to be scheduled after the contract has been awarded and a project schedule has been submitted and approved.

7. SSA contractors associated with the photocopier manufacturer will relocate all copier equipment on a designated date to be scheduled after the contract has been awarded and a project schedule has been submitted and approved.”

1.1.2 Para. 1.6 - ADD the following new paragraphs:

“1.6 WORK COMPLETION TIME

A. The Contractor will submit their performance bonds and insurance to the Contracting

Officer within ten (10) calendar days after the Notice of Award is issued. After the Contracting Officer receives, reviews, and determines acceptable performance bonds/insurance were provided from the Contractor, the Contracting Officer will issue by default by way of the actual award to the Contractor a preliminary Notice to Proceed (NTP), that directs the Contractor to immediately develop their construction submittals and submit their security clearance paperwork for their workers. The preliminary NTP also provides the Contractor direction to begin the product submittal process. For clarification purposes this preliminary NTP and the actual award are consider one and the same as such no further written notification of this preliminary NTP is required.

B. The Contractor has been allotted a maximum of fifty (50) calendar days after Notice of Award (preliminary NTP) to obtain sufficient and adequate number of cleared personnel to begin execution of the work. Once the contractor demonstrates to the Contracting Officer that the Contractor has adequate numbers of construction workers that have received their security clearances from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the Contracting Officer will issue the Contractor the actual “Construction Notice to Proceed (NTP)”. The actual “Construction NTP” will be issued no later than 50 calendar days after the contract award.

C. If the Contractor has submitted security clearance paperwork for adequate numbers of workers to execute the contract within the required 50 days, but there are delays in processing the clearance paperwork caused by OPM (thru no fault of the Contractor), the Contracting Officer will issue the Contractor a time extension at no additional cost to the Government. Only construction workers that have received favorable clearances from the OPM will be able to work at this project. (Refer to security clearance section of project specification).

D. All contract work for a Base Bid Work award must be completed approximately no later than 125 calendar days after the “Construction Notice to Proceed” is issued which shall be no later than 50 calendar days after contract award.”

1.2 SETION 012300 – ALTERNATES: DELETE this section in its entirety.

1.3 SECTION 012400 – OPTIONS: DELETE this section in its entirety.

1.4 SECTION 017822 - OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE DOCUMENTATION: Para. 1.2A ADD the following paragraph:

“3. The person assembling the O&M manuals must submit qualifications to demonstrate that that they are

a. IBM Maximo Associate certified

b. Have experience successfully preparing O&M manuals for integration into asset tracking system.”

1.4.1 Para. 1.3 ADD the following paragraphs:

“D. Use of CMMS: The Government utilizes a Computerized Maintenance System (CMMS), IBM

Maximo Asset Management 7.5 (or more current as releases become available).

1. The Contractor will be required to submit a template of all equipment installed as part of the Work which will require maintenance, repair or replacement utilizing the N-CMMS Equipment-Template v09a (to be provided by GSA) for upload in the CMMS by the Government O&M staff.

2. Submit an updated version of the template at least monthly through the life of the project.

Upon project completion, a final template will be required to include all equipment which will be tracked by the CMMS system.

E. Optional Form of Submittal for Final Manuals: If specifically requested by the Contractor and approved by the Contracting Officer or designated representative, written and graphic portions of final manuals may be submitted in a CD/DVD ROM electronic format acceptable to the Building Manager. Manual content and specific information to be included in each type of manual shall comply as specified for bound manuals. Content that is not included in CD ROM electronic format shall be assembled into binders with dividers/tabs and other requirements specified for bound manuals. CD/DVD ROM disks and binders shall be fully and clearly labeled, with disks and associated binders for each manual boxed or otherwise packaged for accessible storage together.”

1.4.2 Para. 2.1C ADD the following sentence:

“Do not use original Project Record Documents as part of operation and maintenance manuals.”

1.5 Section 260519 - WIRES AND CABLES: Part 2, Paragraph 2.3 Metal Clade Cable (MC-Cable) – DELETE Paragraph 2.3 in its entirety. (MC-Cable not allowed on this project).

SMITHGROUP SPECIFICATIONS

1.6 Section 16120 / 260519 - WIRE, CABLE, AND ACCESSORIES – PART 2: Paragraph 2.01 Power

Wires and Cable - 600 Volt, Sub-Paragraph D, Metal-Clad Cable - DELETE in its entirety. (MC- Cable not allowed on this project).

1.7 Section 16470 / 262416 PANELBOARDS: Part 2, 2.01 Lighting and Receptacle Panelboards;

Enclosure. ADD to Paragraph 1. “Provide with door in door construction which permits access to both the circuit breaker section and gutter space without removing the entire door.”

1.8 Section 16470 / 262416 PANELBOARDS: Part 2, 2.01 Lighting and Receptacle Panelboards;

Sub-Paragraph D, Bus System. DELETE from Paragraph D.1. “…or tin plated aluminum...”

2.0 DRAWINGS

2.1 Drawing Cover Sheet, Drawing List: DELETE Sheet “G-004 PHASING PLAN – BID OPTIONS”.

No option work is included in the project.

2.1.1 REVISE Fire Protection Drawing Number “FXD101” to “FD101”.

2.2 Drawing G-003, PHASING PLAN: REPLACE with new Drawing G-003 PHASING PLAN (attached).

2.3 Drawing G-004, PHASING PLAN – BID OPTIONS; DELETE this sheet in its entirety.

PHASING PLAN NOTES & DIAGRAMS

THE FOLLOWING PHASING DIAGRAMS AND NOTES PROVIDE A PROOF OF CONCEPT PHASING PLAN FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DESIGN.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR COORDINATION AND PHASING OF CONSTRUCTION WORK LIES WITH THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR. IN GENERAL, THE PROJECT

PHASING IS ENVISIONED AS FOLLOWS:

PHASE #1 - DCR ROOM & 5TH FLOOR AND 2ND FLOOR CONSTRUCTION PREPARATIONS

PHASE #1 INCLUDES THE COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY AND PARTIAL REARRANGEMENT OF FURNITURE FROM THE NORTH TOWER OF THE FOURTH FLOOR TO SWING SPACE AT THE 5TH FLOOR, 2ND FLOOR, AND THE 4TH FLOOR IVT ROOM. THIS INCLUDES EQUIPMENT AND REQUIRED CONNECTIONS FOR ALL SYSTEMS AND PREPARATIONS FOR WIRELESS SERVICE AT THE SWING SPACE. PHASE #1 ALSO INCLUDES REMOVING AND DISPOSING OF ANYTHING IN THE DCR ROOM THAT IS NOT NEEDED FOR PHONE, DATA, AND POWER CONNECTIONS. STAFF SHOULD BE RELOCATED TO THEIR DESIGNATED WORKSTATIONS. IN GENERAL, PHASE ONE WORK INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

1. REMOVE AND STORE ALL TABLES, CHAIRS, AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT FROM THE 4TH FLOOR IVT ROOM

2. REMOVE AND PROPERLY DISCARD ALL DESKS, CHAIRS, AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT FROM THE 5TH FLOOR SWING SPACE.

3. DE-ENERGIZE ALL WORK STATIONS (INCLUDING DATA LINES) AT THE NORTH TOWER OF FOURTH FLOOR IN PREPARATION FOR SYSTEMS FURNITURE

DISASSEMBLY AND RELOCATION OFF SITE BY OTHERS (EXCEPT 34 ARTICULATION DESKS, WHICH WILL BE RELOCATED AS DESCRIBED BELOW).

ALLOW FIVE WORK DAYS FOR KNOCK-DOWN AND REMOVAL OF EXISTING SYSTEMS FURNITURE BY OTHERS.

4. RELOCATE 34 ARTICULATING DESKS FROM EXISTING WORKSTATIONS AT THE NORTH TOWER TO THE SWING SPACES AS INDICATED IN THE CONTRACT

DOCUMENTS.

5. RELOCATE 8 ARTICULATING DESKS FROM THE NORTH TOWER TO THE 5TH FLOOR SWING SPACE AND CONNECT ALL POWER AND DATA CONNECTIONS.

RELOCATE 6 ARTICULATING DESKS AND PRIVACY PANELS FROM THE NORTH TOWER TO THE 4TH FLOOR IVT ROOM AND CONNECT ALL POWER AND DATA CONNECTIONS. RELOCATE 20 ARTICULATING DESKS AND PRIVACY PANELS FROM THE NORTH TOWER TO THE 2ND FLOOR SWING SPACE AND CONNECT ALL POWER AND DATA CONNECTIONS. SSA TO HAVE FINAL JURISDICTION IN EMPLOYEE SEATING ASSIGNMENTS AND REQUIRED

EQUIPMENT. SEAT PHASING WILL GO AS FOLLOWS:

-8 EMPLOYEES WILL SIT AT THE ARTICULATING DESKS IN THE TRAINING ROOM ON THE 5TH FLOOR.

-6 EMPLOYEES WILL SIT AT THE ARTICULATING DESKS AND PRIVACY PANELS IN THE TRAINING ROOM ON THE 4TH FLOOR.

-20 EMPLOYEES WILL SIT AT THE ARTICULATING DESKS AND PRIVACY PANELS AT THE 2ND FLOOR SWING SPACE.

-22 EMPLOYEES WILL SIT AT THE EXISTING WORKSTATIONS IN THE SOUTHWEST QUADRANT ON THE 4TH FLOOR

6. RELOCATE EQUIPMENT AND PERSONAL ITEMS (2 MOVING BOXES PER PERSON) FROM THE FOURTH FLOOR NORTH TOWER TO THE DESIGNATED SWING SPACE LOCATIONS AT THE 2ND, 4TH, AND 5TH FLOORS (SEE CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS FOR A COMPLETE LISTING OF MATERIALS AND

FURNITURE).

7. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF NON-ESSENTIAL ITEMS OUT OF THE DCR ROOM TO PROVIDE SPACE FOR NEW DATA RACKS AND EQUIPMENT. THIS INCLUDES ANY EQUIPMENT NOT REQUIRED TO RUN EXISTING DATA, PHONE, AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. REQUEST CLARIFICATION FOR ANY ITEMS THAT THE SSA MAY WISH TO RETAIN. THE CONTRACTOR PRICE SHOULD COVER REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ALL EXCESS ITEMS.

8. WORK WILL INCLUDE SETTING UP THE NEW DATA RACK AND EQUIPMENT, PHONE, AND ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THE DCR ROOM FOR PROPER

CONNECTIONS WHEN PROJECT WORK IS COMPLETE.

PHASE #2 - DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION

PHASE #2 INCLUDES THE COMPLETE DEMOLITION AND BUILD OUT AT THE NORTH TOWER OF THE 4TH FLOOR INCLUDING CONNECTIONS TO ALL NEW SYSTEMS (TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY, ETC.). MAINTAIN SECURE ACCESS FOR TENANT TO DCR ROOM THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT DURATION. IN GENERAL, PHASE TWO

WORK INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

1. SEAL OFF/SECURE EXISTING DOORS AS NECESSARY; ALLOW ONE DOOR TO REMAIN ACTIVE FOR CONSTRUCTION ACCESS ONLY AND ONE

ADDITIONAL DOOR FOR EMERGENCY EGRESS. PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PROTECTION AND ENCLOSURE AS REQUIRED TO CONTAIN WORK AREA AND PERFORM THE SCHEDULED DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES. COMPLY WITH ALL LIFE SAFETY CODES FOR ALL WORK.

2. PROVIDE ALL TEMPORARY ENCLOSURES AS REQUIRED FOR DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT DUST FROM ENTERING ANY OTHER AREAS DURING DEMOLITION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY PARTITIONS AND ENCLOSURES DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO SEPARATE CONSTRUCTION WORK FROM OCCUPANTS DURING EACH PHASE OF WORK.

3. PROVIDE BUILD-OUT FOR TENANT AS SCHEDULED, INCLUDING THE ELEVATOR LOBBY PARTITION, NEW FINISHES, MEP & FIRE PROTECTION WORK, TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY, ETC. COORDINATE FURNITURE & EQUIPMENT MOVE WITH OWNER.

4. WORK TO INCLUDE PROVIDING ALL TELECOMMUNICATION AND DATA CABLING FROM THE 4TH FLOOR DCR ROOM TO NEW LOCATIONS AS DIRECTED BY THE GSA/SSA. PROVIDE INFRASTRUCTURE AND INSTALL ACCESS POINTS FOR WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE FOR THE FOURTH FLOOR NORTH TOWER.

5. NEW WORKSTATIONS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT TO BE INSTALLED / CONNECTED TO ALLOW FOR NORMAL TENANT OPERATIONS TO TAKE PLACE.

COORDINATE WITH SMITHGROUP DOCUMENTS. ALLOW A MINIMUM OF FIVE WEEKS FOR ERECTION OF FEI BARRIER WALL AND SYSTEMS FURNITURE BY THE SSA CONTRACTOR. BARRIER WALL ERECTION CANNOT BEGIN UNTIL FLOORING AND CEILING WORK ARE COMPLETE. THE SSA BARRIER WALL AND SYSTEMS FURNITURE CONTRACTOR WILL BEGIN WORK ON SITE WHEN IT IS CLEAR THAT ON-SITE WORK CAN PROCEED UNIMPEDED BY THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR. A MEETING TO COORDINATE MOVES AND INSTALLATION OF FEI BARRIER WALL AND SYSTEMS FURNITURE SHALL BE SCHEDULED AS SOON AS IT IS PRACTICAL. AT A MINIMUM, THE MEETING SHALL BE ATTENDED BY THE GSA, SSA, SYSTEMS FURNITURE CONTRACTOR

AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR.

6. RELOCATE EQUIPMENT AND PERSONAL ITEMS FROM THE 22 WORKSTATIONS AT THE SOUTHWEST QUADRANT TO THE NEW WORKSTATIONS AT THE

NORTH TOWER AS DIRECTED BY THE SSA.

7. THIS PHASE IS CONSIDERED COMPLETE WHEN ALL WORK IS COMPLETED AND THE TENANT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY RELOCATED FROM THE

SOUTHWEST QUADRANT TO THE NORTH TOWER.

8. ONCE ALL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE THE PROJECT WORK CAN CONTINUE INTO THE SOUTH TOWER AS DESCRIBED ON G-003.

PHASE #3: DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION

PHASE #3 INCLUDES THE COMPLETE DEMOLITION AND BUILD OUT AT THE SOUTHWEST SECTION OF 4TH FLOOR INCLUDING CONNECTIONS TO ALL NEW

SYSTEMS (TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY, ETC.).

1. CREATE THE TEMPORARY BARRIER IN PHASE #3 FOR SAFE EMPLOYEE ENTRANCE INTO THE MULTIPURPOSE ROOM

2. PRIMARY WORK AREA – PHASE #3 SHALL BE PREPARED FOR DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NEW SCHEDULED WORK ACTIVITIES.

3. SEAL OFF/SECURE EXISTING DOORS AS NECESSARY; ALLOW ONE DOOR TO REMAIN ACTIVE FOR CONSTRUCTION ACCESS ONLY. PROVIDE

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION AND ENCLOSURE AS REQUIRED TO CONTAIN WORK AREA AND PERFORM THE SCHEDULED DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES.

4. PROVIDE ALL TEMPORARY ENCLOSURES AS REQUIRED FOR DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TO

PREVENT DUST FROM ENTERING ANY OTHER AREAS DURING DEMOLITION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY PARTITIONS AND ENCLOSURES DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO SEPARATE CONSTRUCTION WORK FROM OCCUPANTS DURING EACH PHASE OF WORK.

5. DE-ENERGIZE 22 WORK STATIONS (INCLUDING DATA LINES) AT THE SOUTHWEST QUADRANT OF FOURTH FLOOR IN PREPARATION FOR SYSTEMS FURNITURE DISASSEMBLY. ALLOW TWO WORK DAYS FOR KNOCK-DOWN AND REMOVAL OF EXISTING SYSTEMS FURNITURE BY OTHERS.

6. PROVIDE BUILD-OUT FOR TENANT AS SCHEDULED INCLUDING NEW FINISHES, MEP & FIRE PROTECTION WORK, TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY, ETC.

COORDINATE EXISTING FURNITURE & EQUIPMENT MOVE WITH SSA FURNITURE VENDOR.

7. NEW WORKSTATIONS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT TO BE INSTALLED / CONNECTED TO ALLOW FOR NORMAL TENANT OPERATIONS TO TAKE PLACE.

COORDINATE WITH SMITHGROUP DOCUMENTS. ALLOW A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK FOR ERECTION OF SYSTEMS FURNITURE BY THE SSA CONTRACTOR.

SYSTEMS FURNITURE WORK CANNOT BEGIN UNTIL FLOORING WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED. THE SYSTEMS FURNITURE CONTRACTOR WILL BEGIN WORK ON SITE WHEN IT IS CLEAR THAT IT CAN PROCEED WITH WORK ON SITE UNIMPEDED BY THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR. A MEETING TO COORDINATE MOVES AND INSTALLATION OF THE SYSTEMS FURNITURE SHALL BE SCHEDULED AS SOON AS IT IS PRACTICAL. AT A MINIMUM THE MEETING SHALL BE ATTENDED BY THE GSA, SSA, SYSTEMS FURNITURE CONTRACTOR, AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR.

8. REMOVE ANY CABLING BETWEEN THE DCR ROOM AND THE SECOND FLOOR SWING SPACE. REMOVE ANY WIRELESS ACCESS POINTS AT THE SECOND FLOOR AND TURN THEM OVER TO THE SSA. RELOCATE EQUIPMENT AND PERSONAL ITEMS FROM THE SWING SPACE LOCATIONS TO NEW WORKSTATIONS AT THE SOUTHWEST QUADRANT AS DIRECTED BY THE SSA. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF THE ARTICULATING TABLES UTILIZED IN THIS

SECOND FLOOR SWING SPACE.

9. THIS PHASE ENDS WHEN ANY REMAINING TENANTS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY MOVED INTO THE 4TH FLOOR PERMANENT SOUTH OFFICE SPACE.

PHASE #4: DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION

PHASE #4 INCLUDES THE COMPLETE DEMOLITION AND BUILD OUT AT THE SOUTHEAST SECTION OF 4TH FLOOR INCLUDING CONNECTIONS TO ALL NEW

SYSTEMS (TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY, ETC.).

NOTE: TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS PRACTICAL, WORK IN THESE ROOMS SHALL BE PERFORMED OFF HOURS AND THE ROOM SHALL BE RETURNED TO ITS NORMAL CONDITION BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF EACH WORK DAY. ANY WORK THAT MUST OCCUR DURING NORMAL WORKING HOURS SHALL BE APPROVED

IN WRITING BY THE GSA AND SSA AT LEAST THREE WEEKS IN ADVANCE.

3. PROVIDE ALL TEMPORARY ENCLOSURES AS REQUIRED FOR DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TO

PREVENT DUST FROM ENTERING ANY OTHER AREAS DURING DEMOLITION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY PARTITIONS AND ENCLOSURES DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO SEPARATE CONSTRUCTION WORK FROM OCCUPANTS DURING EACH PHASE OF WORK.

4. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF THE SIX (6) ARTICULATING TABLES. REORIENT ANY ELECTRICAL, DATA, AND TELEPHONE LINES AS NECESSARY TO RETURN THE ROOM TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION, USING THE FURNITURE THAT WAS REMOVED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROJECT.

5. PROVIDE BUILD-OUT FOR TENANT AS SCHEDULED INCLUDING NEW FINISHES, MEP & FIRE PROTECTION WORK, TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY, ETC.

COORDINATE EXISTING FURNITURE & EQUIPMENT MOVE WITH SSA FURNITURE VENDOR.

6. REPLACE THE TABLES, CHAIRS AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT IN ITS ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION.

7. THIS PHASE ENDS WHEN ELECTRICAL, AND MECHANICAL WORK IS COMPLETE, TABLES, CHAIRS, AND EQUIPMENT ARE RELOCATED TO THE FOURTH

FLOOR IVT ROOM, AND WALLS HAVE A NEW PAINT FINISH.

NOTE:

1. SYSTEMS FURNITURE: UNICOR OFFICE FURNITURE GROUP (SSA FURNITURE VENDOR) SHALL RELOCATE ALL OF THE SYSTEM FURNITURE; REMOVE

EXISTING WORKSTATIONS FROM THE SITE; AND SUPPLY & INSTALL NEW FURNITURE AND DE-MOUNTABLE WALL SYSTEMS ON A DESIGNATED DATE TO BE SCHEDULED AFTER THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN AWARDED AND A PROJECT SCHEDULE HAS BEEN SUBMITTED AND APPROVED.

2. COMPUTER EQUIPMENT: RELIASOURCE, INC. (SSA VENDOR) WILL RELOCATE ALL COMPUTER EQUIPMENT (LAPTOPS, DESKTOPS, PRINTERS, MONITORS ETC.) ON A DESIGNATED DATE TO BE SCHEDULED AFTER THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN AWARDED AND A PROJECT SCHEDULE HAS BEEN

SUBMITTED AND APPROVED.

3. SSA CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PHOTOCOPIER MANUFACTURER WILL RELOCATE ALL COPIER EQUIPMENT ON A DESIGNATED DATE TO BE SCHEDULED AFTER THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN AWARDED AND A PROJECT SCHEDULE HAS BEEN SUBMITTED AND APPROVED.”

4. GSA’S CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

- ONE NEW CABLE (CAT6E) RUN TO THE 2ND FLOOR SWING SPACE (250 LINEAR FEET).

- INDIVIDUAL PRINTER CABLE (CAT6E) RUNS FROM DCR TO EACH PRINTER LOCATION.

PHASING LEGEND

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF PHASING WORK

1. SHADED PORTION OF PLAN INDICATES PORTION OF THE SPACE INTENDED FOR RENOVATION DURING THIS PHASE.

2. TEMPORARY WORK SHALL NOT BLOCK OR IMPEDE ANY MEANS OF EGRESS.

3. ARCHITECTURAL WORK WITHIN THIS PHASE SHALL INCLUDE ALL WORK WITHIN THE BOUNDARY SHOWN; INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DEMOLITION WORK

4. MEP WORK WITHIN THIS PHASE SHALL INCLUDE ALL WORK WITHIN THE BOUNDARY SHOWN; INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO SCHEDULED DEMOLITIONS, LIGHTING, DUCTWORK, AND PTAC UNIT WORK. SCHEDULED (NEW) DUCTWORK SHALL REMAIN SEALED AND UNCONNECTED TO ANY SUPPLY UNTIL EACH PHASE

IS COMPLETED/READY FOR OCCUPANCY.

5. FIRE PROTECTION WORK DURING THIS PHASE SHALL INCLUDE THE INSTALLATION OF ALL SCHEDULED PIPING AND FIXTURES WITHIN THE BOUNDARY SHOWN.

6. COORDINATE SPRINKLER SHUTDOWN WITH OWNER AND PROVIDE ALL TEMPORARY FIRE PROTECTION MEASURES REQUIRED DURING SWITCHOVER.

TEMPORARY WATCHES AND PROTECTION SHALL BE IN PLACE FOR ANY AREA WITHIN THE FLOOR AFFECTED BY THE SHUTDOWN AND SWITCHOVER. BEFORE THE SPRINKLER BRANCH PIPING IS REMOVED AND SPRINKLER HEADS ARE INSTALLED, THE CONTRACTOR MUST PROVIDE THE INTERIM LIFE SAFETY

MEASURES WHICH ARE DESCRIBED ON FD111.

7. FIRE PROTECTION WORK SHALL INCLUDE ALL WORK WITHIN THE BOUNDARY SHOWN. EACH PHASE SHALL ALSO INCLUDE ANY MODIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO THE OVERALL SYSTEM TO ALLOW FOR ADDED FIXTURES. A FIRE WATCH SHALL BE MAINTAINED WHEN THE AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS SHUT DOWN FOR

MORE THAN 4 HOURS IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD, PER NFPA 101.

8. REFER TO SPECIFICATION SECTION 015000 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IMPAIRMENTS AND FIRE WATCHES.

9. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT DUST AND DEBRIS FROM ENTERING ANY OTHER AREAS DURING DEMOLITION AND

CONSTRUCTION.

GENERAL PHASING NOTES

1. PHASING SHOWN IS THE SUGGESTED SCHEDULE AND INTENT OF THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL. THESE PHASES ARE INTENDED TO MINIMIZE IMPACT ON

OCCUPANTS, PROVIDE SUFFICIENT WORK SPACE FOR THE OCCUPANTS, AND TO PROVIDE A SAFE CONSTRUCTION SITE. CONTRACTOR MAY PROPOSE ALTERNATIVE PHASING, BUT WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTABLE UPON WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE GSA/AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.

2. THE SMITHGROUP DOCUMENTS TOGETHER, COMBINED WITH THE NKB DOCUMENTS COMPRISE THE TOTAL BID PACKAGE AND ALL WORK SHOWN BETWEEN BOTH SETS OF DOCUMENTS IS TO BE PROVIDED. IN THE INSTANCE WHERE ONE DOCUMENT SHOWS MORE WORK THAN THE OTHER, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL

PROVIDE THE GREATER OF THE TWO, IN QUANTITY AND QUALITY.

3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL WORK REQUIRED BY THESE DOCUMENTS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WORK DESCRIBED IN THE ARCHITECTURAL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, FIRE PROTECTION, PLUMBING, AND ATTACHED SMITHGROUP DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL MEASURES NECESSARY TO PROVIDE ALL UTILITIES TO OCCUPIED AREAS DURING CONSTRUCTION INCLUDING COORDINATION OF NEW SYSTEMS WITH EXISTING SYSTEMS

WHERE NECESSARY.

4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SECURE ACCESS TO THE DCR ROOM AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION USING TEMPORARY ACCESS DOORS, TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION PARTITIONS AND OTHER MEANS AS NECESSARY.

5. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF EIGHT ARTICULATION DESKS TO BE RELOCATED TO THE FIFTH FLOOR IVT ROOM, THE 20 ARTICULATING TABLES TO BE RELOCATED TO THE 2ND FLOOR, AND THE 6 WORKSTATIONS TO BE RELOCATED TO THE FOURTH FLOOR IVT ROOM AT THE BEGINNING OF PHASE ONE, THE DISASSEMBLY, RELOCATION, STORAGE, AND REASSEMBLY OF ALL NEW AND EXISTING SYSTEMS FURNITURE SHALL BE PERFORMED UNDER A SEPARATE CONTRACT ADMINISTERED BY THE SSA. RELOCATION OF INCIDENTAL OFFICE EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED BY THIS CONTRACT. SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR A LIST OF EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE TO BE RELOCATED AS PART OF THIS CONTRACT AND FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.

6. SSA CONTRACT WITH SMITHGROUP EXISTS FOR POWER AND DATA REQUIREMENTS. THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR FOR THIS CONTRACT SHALL PROVIDE ALL DATA AND POWER WORK SHOWN ON SMITHGROUP, AND ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS FOR ALL NEW AND EXISTING FURNITURE & EQUIPMENT TO BE REUSED.

7. WORK MAY OCCUR ON SECOND SHIFT AND OVER THE WEEKEND.

8. REFER TO SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL MOVING AND PHASING REQUIREMENTS.

9. KEEP ALL CORRIDORS FREE OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS SO WORKERS CAN VACATE THE SITE SAFELY WITHOUT OBSTRUCTIONS IN CASE OF A FIRE OR FIRE

ALARM DURING EACH PHASE.

10. ALL FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS THAT ARE USED AT THE WORK SITE DURING NORMAL WORKING HOURS MUST BE STORED OFF SITE AT THE END OF THE WORK DAY.

EXAMPLES OF FLAMMABLE MATERIALS ARE PROPANE TANKS, CLEANING FLUIDS, ETC. CONTRACTOR TO GET APPROVAL FROM GSA PRIOR TO BRINGING

FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS INTO BUILDING.

11. THE SUPERINTENDENT SHALL HAVE WEEKLY JOB MEETINGS WITH THE CONSTRUCTION CREWS TO DISCUSS WHAT ACTIONS THE WORKERS SHALL TAKE

DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD TO MITIGATE POTENTIAL FIRE SAFETY RISKS.

12. THE GSA AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION SHALL MAKE THE FINAL DETERMINATION OF THE ADEQUACY OF PROPOSED EQUIVALENT LEVELS OF FIRE PROTECTION BEFORE THE DISRUPTION OF ANY FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM. CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A COMBINED FIRE PROTECTION SUBMITTAL PACKAGE, INCLUDING ALL RELATED FIRE SAFETY SHOP DRAWINGS, FOR FINAL APPROVAL BY GSA REGIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER PRIOR
