1. I READ UNDER SECTION D, 7 THAT THERE ARE REQUIRED LICENSES TO PERFORM

THE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE ON THESE CARTS. WHAT LICENSES OR

CERTIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS SERVICE?

ANSWER: No licenses or certifications required to perform the preventive maintenance on these carts. just general knowledge of surgical case carts.

2. SITE VISIT: CAN WE ARRANGE A SITE VISIT?

ANSWER: Yes. we will have to schedule with SPS (sterile processing service).

3. MAKE AND MODEL: COULD YOU PROVIDE THE MAKE AND MODEL OF THE PEDIGO,

BLICKMAN, AND METRO CASE CARTS?

ANSWER: PEDIGO REVOLUTION CLOSED SURGICAL CASE CART WITH DOUBLE DOOR

- 46.25" W X 27.5" D X 59" H (MODEL # RCC-245), BLICKMAN: MODEL # (CCC2-17) - NOT

IN USE. METRO: MODEL # (CASE24-L6S-P) - NOT IN USE.

4. POWER SOURCE: DO THE CASE CARTS OPERATE ON AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM

WHERE THEY REQUIRE BATTERIES OR ANY OTHER POWER SOURCE, OR ARE THEY

ENTIRELY MANUAL?

ANSWER: No power source is required.

5. Asbestos Certification Requirement

The solicitation mentions that VAMC San Diego Building 1 contains asbestos, and any worker entering these areas must have an asbestos certification of at least 16 hours and a valid fit test certification.

Can you confirm whether any portion of this contract requires work in areas with asbestos?

If asbestos exposure is not anticipated, can this requirement be waived?

ANSWER: Zero asbestos areas

6. Scheduling and Availability of Case Carts

Since case carts are in daily use, we want to ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.

How many carts will be available for maintenance on a given day?

Are there after-hours or weekend work opportunities where more carts could be made available for servicing?

ANSWER: 7-10 carts each service day. Must be done on weekends…preferrable Sunday…any hours…Open 24hrs.

7. In Amendment 0001, it is stated to Question #3 that the Blickman and Metro case carts are not in use. Does this mean that they should be removed from the case cart total count, bringing the total to 52 instead of 60 that require service/pricing?

ANSWER: The Blickman (x2) and Metro (X4) are in use throughout the facility, for various applications…. they just are not in-use for Surgical Instrumentation. Blickman and Metro are to remain in the total (60).

8. Who is the incumbent contractor?

ANSWER: 3T Federal Solutions LLC

9. What is the current method of sanitizing the carts?

ANSWER: Industrial Case-Cart Washer = Belimed CS750

10. The solicitation is for a quarterly check and repair; however, the solicitation reads more as a continuous type of work. Will this contract require personnel daily?

ANSWER: No…usually One weekend every couple of weeks…10 carts each weekend.
