X x x The purpose of this amendment is to answer RFIs #4 through #10 and incorporate revised wage determination CA180029 dated April 6, 2018.

RFI #4: For the finishes floor material in the lavatory it shows RES-1. There is no detail or spec illustrating what RES-1 is. But there is a spec on RES-2 is that what RES-1 is supposed to be or is RES-1 just the epoxy base and RES-2 is with Vinyl Chip Broadcast. If RES-1 is just the epoxy base then would EPX-1 be the same thing?

Answer: All the Lavatories have 1” x 1” ceramic floor tile. The walls have 4’ x 4’ ceramic tile the bottom row of these are sanitary base tiles. These are all to be removed.

The Waterproof, slip-proof, anti-microbial, seamless epoxy floor covering is to be installed over the entire floor and coved up the wall. It will end and be sealed at approximately 4” where the sanitary base tile were removed from and the existing 4” x 4” wall tile that remain.

All lavatories will be the same with the same color (to be selected by the COR).

RFI #5: 01 00 00 para 1.2/A/2 indicates that the contractor is to protect, remove, and store in a secure area all Government fixtures, furniture, and equipment located in the work spaces, and then return to the locations found at the completion of each phase.

1)Will the VA provide a secure storage location within Building 331 for these items?
2)If storage is unavailable within the facility, will the VA provide a secure storage location somewhere on campus for these items?

Answer: In the center of each phase is a 20’ x 20’ store room that is not within this scope of work. It may be used for any storage needs.

RFI #6: Is there going to be a reflected ceiling plan issued to determine the location of the acoustical ceilings versus hard lid?

Answer: The original design for this project had the ceiling grid in the lavatories being replaced. This was changed at the last minute to “Wash Ceiling Grid”. Not all references were corrected at that time.

RFI #7: Will there be an asbestos report issued determining what areas that are to be removed are considered "Hot"?

Answer: Building 331 was built in the late 1970’s after ACM was removed from building products. The building is not considered Hot. Should the contractor find what they think is ACM in the course of the project, bring it to the attention of the COR for direction on how to proceed.

RFI #8: D-wing Accent paint plan and accent flooring plans were provided, will there be plans provided for accents in B wing or are we to mirror D Wing Plans?

Answer: The Accent color scheme is the same for both wings. The accent color for each wing is different.

RFI #9: In the specifications, item#6 “Replace wall and floor finishes at Multi-Patient shower room Wing D” on the room finish schedule it says NA. Please provide the wall tile selection for us to use in our bid?

Answer: The ceramic tile in the shower room is the standard Dal 4”x4” or equivalent. Color and accent color will be selected by the COR.

RFI #10: Is there any elevation sheets for the shower rooms? We will need details for height of ceramic tile walls or are we tiling to the ceiling? Will there be any accent tiles on the walls?

Answer: Ceramic tile elevations in the shower room are: Showers – floor to ceiling, Other walls Approximately 54”.
