Question 4: Solicitation document says “Submit One (1) original hardcopy of Proposal Contents” in INSTRUCTIONS, CONDITIONS AND OTHER STATEMNT TO BIDDERS/OFFERERS 10. Can we submit the proposal via e-mail too?
Answer: Only hardcopy originals will be accepted.
Question 5: Is chlorination to be performed after equipment and pipe installation?
Answer 5: Yes. A FINAL CHLORINATION SHALL BE DONE AFTER ALL PLUMBING AND EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED AND SHALL BE FLOSHED AT NEAREST FIXTURE.
Question 6: Is it a requirement for all products on the bid to meet Buy American Act (> 50% US-made)?
Answer 6: The provision in the solicitation does not indicate any exceptions to the Buy American Act.
Question 7: Can you confirm 30psi steam is supplied to the control valves?
Answer 7: Yes.
Question 8: Will you accept a horizontal semi-instantaneous Heat Exchanger?
Answer 8: No, the real estate is needed.
Question 9: Does the mixing valve need to be able to hold +/- 2F with zero system draw off (no demand - no faucets or showers open)? This application scenario arises at night when there is no system demand?
Answer 9: The domestic hot water is a circulating loop system. The expectation is to hold the set temperature to the supply and return with low demand. During demand the supply is expected to be +/2 F.
Question 10: Can you confirm the recirculation pump requirement of 40gpm at 8ft head? The flow seems unnecessarily high as the application calls for 35 GPM max. The TDH seems low?
Answer 10: This is based on existing equipment.
Question 11: Does a control need to be provided to interface with Johnson Metasys for the heat exchanger or just for the mixing valve?
Answer 11: Both.
