Statement of Work

Bus Shelter

Summary

The purpose of this scope of work (“SOW”) is to define the extent of the design and construction of a

56’ x 42’ four bay bus shelter.

COMPLETION TIME: 120 Calendar Days After Receipt of NTP

Scope of Work

DESIGN:

Architectural drawings as required. Drawings shall include designs for:

• the 84’ x 60’ concrete foundation, location is established on attached drawing

• 56’ x 42’ structure

• Electrical

All drawings are to be approved by the VA before construction begins.

CONSTRUCTION:

Division 01 – General Requirements

• The summary of work includes all general trade work, electrical and project management needed for the retrofit.

• Clean-up and haul away all construction related debris. Final cleaning is to be performed by the

Contractor.

• Infectious control standards are to be per the VA’s standards.

• Provide general liability insurance. Builders’ All-Risk insurance is to be provided by the General

Contractor

• Provide transportation, handling, storage and protection for all contractor provided construction materials and equipment.

• Comply with all VA Medical Center utility interruption policies.

• Provide required dumpsters for disposal of construction debris and materials.

• Use of Owner’s facilities shall not be permitted.

• Safety regulations and OSHA regulations.

• •All work will comply with NFPA 70/99 and 101.

• Provide all required shop drawings and submittals and keep a copy of all approved shop drawings and submittals in the job site office. Turn over all approved files as well as all appropriate operation and maintenance manuals to the Owner upon completion of the project.

Division 02 – Existing Conditions

• •Clear area of any unwanted debris. Debris is to be hauled off site unless claimed by the VA.

Division 03 – Concrete – Concrete foundation shall be made of 5000psi reinforced concrete. The foundation shall be 60’ x 45’. The foundation shall be reinforced with #5 rebar @ 12” O.C. in both directions. The slab shall be 6” thick with 12” W x 18” D perimeter and center beams.

Division 04 – Masonry – N/A

Division 05 – Metals

• Building is to be of steel I-beam and/or 4” square tube construction w/ a sheet metal roof and side walls. Side walls shall be suspended from the top and stop @ 6’ above the finished concrete slab.

• Structure shall have the dimensions of 56’ wide x 42’ deep and 15’H in the front and 14’H in the rear

Division 07 – Thermal and Moisture Protection – N/A

Division 08 – Openings – N/A

Division 09 – Finishes

• Side walls shall be painted to a color that is approved by the VA

Division 10 – Specialties – N/A

Division 11 – Equipment – N/A

Division 12 – Furnishings – N/A

Division 13 – Special Construction – N/A

Division 14 – Conveying Equipment – N/A

Division 21 – Fire Suppression – N/A

Division 22 – Plumbing – N/A

Division 23 – Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning -N/A

Division 26 – Electrical –

• Structure shall be well lit with light fixtures in each bay. Light fixtures shall be set on a astronomical clock.

• Install one110V 20A outlet in each bay (4)

• One exterior light on each side (2)

• Contractor shall run underground conduit and electrical lines from the nearest adequate source of power, to a panel located at the proposed structure

Division 27 – Communications – N/A

Division 28 – Electronic Safety and Security – N/A

Division 31 – Earthwork –

• Contractor shall remove 4’ of material and replace it with 24” of crushed limestone base and a

18” sand sub-base.

Division 32 – Exterior Improvements –

• Contractor shall verify locations of underground utilities before breaking ground
