CONTINUATION PAGE

– the only things in the contract to be inspected is the FACP which include devices that interface with it. Ie. supervisory points and tamper switches and the DAMPERS. The Contractor is responsible for inspecting all devices that interface with the fire alarm and fire suppression system. Testing and inspections shall include, but not limited to, all components of the fire alarm system (panels, annunciators, initiating devices, notification devices, batteries, all interfaces, etc.), smoke detectors (Fire Detection); fire/smoke dampers; pull stations; tamper switches; water flow switches; duct detectors; heat detectors, fire door Release, fire pump, main fire alarm panel; remote fire alarm panels; annunciator panels; speakers; strobes; horn strobes; FMS 200, kitchen hood suppression, and wiring and other related equipment.

– Are we inspecting the sprinkler, special gases, kitchen hood, fire pump, extinguishers, rolling/sliding fire doors, fire doors, fire door assemblies, hydrants, backflows? Yes, the Contractor is responsible for inspecting all devices that interface with the fire alarm and fire suppression system.

– Are the dampers due in year 4 or year 5? The contract starts/ends in the middle of July, when they are due. Reference page 50-51 for the testing schedule for the dampers.

– Confirm Prevailing Wage. Please see attached wage determination

– Confirm we are not using GSA rates: This is an open market solicitation; it is your option if you wish to provide GSA pricing or not. Successful offer is based on Best Value.

– (Page 15-19) If there are any additional inspections other than the FACP and DAMPERS we will need counts. Ie # risers, # wet/dry/pre-action systems, # kitchen hoods, # extinguishers etc. Reference pages 26 – 48 for estimated device totals. Additional information can be provided post award if necessary.

– (Page 52 & 53) shows 5-year sprinkler inspections. Was this an error? There is no reference to a 5-year sprinkler inspection on pages 52 & 53. However, there is a 5-year internal fire sprinkler inspection that is required by the contract.

– Do we need containment tents for the dampers. HEPA containment tents must be utilized when completing dirty work.
