CONTINUATION PAGE

1. What was the previous awarded Solicitation Number, Date awarded and awarded value?

VA250-16-C-0121, 10/01/2016 to 09/30/2021 Aggregated Price $165.000.00

2. The government provided a response to questions for this same location under a previous solicitation that indicated that the current pest contractor spends 100 hours a month on site performing services. Can the government confirm that this information is actually correct?

Yes 100 hours per month.

3. How many after hours service requests at each site have then been in the past 12 months?

About 12-15 hours in the past 12 months.

4. What are the regular service days for this site?

Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm excluding Federal Holidays. Some contract tasks may require work to be performed after normal business hours and holidays.

5. Who is the current pest vendor?

X-terminator INC.

6. What is the number of bed bug service requests at each site over the past 12 months?

About 33 bed bug requests in the past 12 months

7. Has any of the scope of service changed from this Solicitation compared to that of the last awarded contract? If so, what changed?

Yes. Included Bldg. 145. Included -electrocution devices, traps, caulking, air screens. Included - inspect for wood destroying organisms. Included- Evaluation of control measures through follow-up inspections by COR. Included failure to provide to the COR required reports in a timely manner would result in a $50.00 deduction from monthly invoices until corrective action is taken by contractor.

8. How many rodent bait stations and fly light devices are currently present at each location?

For rodents we set traps.

9. The government indicated that air screens were added to the current SOW. It is not standard practice for fixed cost services within our industry or with the Department of Veterans Affairs contracting to have pest contractors responsible for air screens. These air screens can cost thousands of dollars to provide and install. Is it the government's expectation that the contractor would be responsible for supplying, installing and maintaining such items? If so, how many doors does the government expect will be required?

No, the contractor would not be responsible for supplying, installing and maintaining these. We are asking contractor for recommendations as a prevention and control method, not to install and currently we have none

10. The government indicated that electrocution devices were added to the current SOW. It is not standard practice nor within IPM Best Practices to use electrocution devices for pest control in medical environments. Can the government clarify that they were referring to Flying Insect UVL Attractant Lights (Fly Lights) rather than electrocution devices. Can the government provide the current number of Fly Lights that are currently present?

We are asking contractor for recommendations not to install and currently we have none.

11. The government indicated that inspection for wood destroying organisms was added to the current SOW. Can the government confirm that any treatment for activity of wood destroying organisms is included within the fixed cost price? Can the government provide the number of inspections and treatments that have occurred over the past 12 months. Additionally, can the government clarify that wood destroying organisms services exclude damage repairs caused by these WDO pests, dryrot and fungus and therefore is limited to control of termites and carpenter ants.

If treatment is required separate service contract would be negotiated. We have had none in the last 12 months. Yes they would exclude damage repairs.
