Questions & Responses

1. Can you please advise on how much approx. square footage of exterior demolition is involved?

Sloped standing seam rubber 4,847sf Flat membrane 503sf Total 5,350sf

Original 5,338sf (+12sf)

2. Drawing 1-M0.0/Coded 2 states that after the contractor submits the report to the design team and VA for review, adjustments may be made to the existing systems to ensure proper humidifier operation. Scope of work may change for each air handling unit based on the contents of the report.

a. Question: Should the contractor account in the bid total for these changes in scope, which would be an assumed cost by each contractor bidding or will there be an amendment issued detailing the additional scope of work as an alternate to cover this possible/unknown cost so that a level playing field can be maintained for SDVOSB Contractors? Please clarify.

See the attached Addendum 1 and Mechanical legend, General Notes and Schedules AD1

3. Drawing 1-M0.0/Coded 3 states at the completion of each phase the contractor shall test each steam control valve and humidifier to verify that the existing and new equipment is operating properly and is capable of meeting the set points and sequences as specified on the drawings. After the contractor submits the report to the design team and VA for review, the contractor will be responsible for any changes required to provide a properly operating system to the satisfaction of the VA.

a. Question: How should the contractor account in the bid total for replacement of existing controls to suit the intent of the drawings, specifications, and satisfaction of the VA without having been provided the specific information? There is no possible way to predict the future. To avoid an assumed cost by each contractor bidding will there be an amendment issued detailing the additional scope of work to cover this possible/unknown cost so that a level playing field can be maintained for SDVOSB Contractors? Please clarify.
