The Department of Veterans Affairs, Loma Linda VA Healthcare System, Research Services intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Scanco USA Inc. for the maintenance and service of its VivaCT 20 Scanner. Investigators at the Loma Linda VA Healthcare System use their VivaCT 40 to conduct high speed in vivo micro-CT scans for detailed analysis of bone structure at two- and three-dimensional levels with a resolution as low as 10 µm in ongoing research projects. Scanco is the manufacturer of the VivaCT 40 scanner and Scanco USA is the sole known distributor of the proprietary software and parts for the VivaCT 40 scanner. The VA had a contract for these services with Scanco USA, and this contract will be to continue these services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, December 27, 2021, 11:00 AM, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Shannon Hukriede at Shannon.Hukriede@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted.
