* = Required Field Contract Opportunity Special Notice Q301 Intent to sole source HTG Molecular - Lab Services, 15212-5319 36C24E21Q0004 N 541380 US Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East 323 North Shore Drive, Suite 500 Pittsburgh PA 15212-5319 Lynn Portman lynn.portman@va.gov The Department of Veterans Affairs, Houston VA, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with HTG MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS, INC for HTG oncology biomarker samples. HTG is required for the current analysis for 3 reasons. First, they utilize a very small amount of tissue. This is very important because the samples the VA needs to analyze are from human patient biopsies. As a result, there is very limited tissue available for analysis and HTG requires a very small amount of tissue per biopsy. Larger tissue from each biopsy is not possible with the samples we wish to analyze. Second, HTG provides greater gene coverage for what we are studying which is the interaction between oncogenes and the tumor immune microenvironment. The genes listed are critical to understand the tumor biology we are studying. A reduced number of genes will impair VA analysis. Third, the HTG platform has been optimized to work with old paraffin embedded specimens because it can use a lower quality of RNA which is required by the VA. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, November 2nd, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
