DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS

STATEMENT OF NEED

A. GENERAL INFORMATION

• Title: Hemodynamic Pump Units

• Scope of Work: Nursing Services at the Malcom Randall VAMC, 1601 SW Archer

Rd., Gainesville, Florida 32608, has a requirement for pump units, pressure controlling kits, and pressure measuring accessories that allow for the non-invasive, measurement of hemodynamic parameters such as stroke volume (SV), stroke volume variation (SVV), cardiac output (CO), systemic vascular resistance (SVR), and continuous blood pressure (cBP). The pump units, pressure controlling kits, and pressure measuring accessories will be used with existing Hemodynamic Monitoring

Platform to support clinicians’ assessments and clinical decisions related to patient hemodynamic optimization. In order to assess patients’ hemodynamic parameters

(SV, SVV, SO, SVR and cBP) in a non-invasive, continuous manner, a device that attaches to the patients’ fingers and wrist has been recognized as being clinically effective and accurate. The nine (9ea) pump units, pressure controlling kits, and pressure measuring accessories must be compatible with the existing Hemodynamic

Monitoring Systems (EV1000 ClearSight Platform / Edwards Lifesciences EV1000M

Monitors) and will be used to support clinicians’ assessments and clinical decisions related to hemodynamic optimization for patients admitted to the Medical Intensive

Care Unit (MICU). The Contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in this Statement of Need (SON).
