CONTINUATION PAGE
Is there a site visit scheduled? No, but any vendor wishing to come and look at the garages- may do so. If assistance is needed, my cell # is 352-443-1627. M-F 0800- 1630.
Who supplies the toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap trash bags etc. How many Levels & stairways at each parking structures? How many elevators and is there a freight elevator? The vendor does. Liberty garage has 7 levels and 2 stairwells. No bathroom. Freedom garage has 5 levels and 2 stairwells. It has one bathroom. Independence garage has 3 levels and 2 stairwells. It has no bathroom. No freight elevators. But, the regular elevators may be utilized.
How many restrooms per structure? Only the Freedom garage has a bathroom.
Who is the current contractor? Rockhopper Services Is this a new requirement or existing contract? No, current contract expires 09/30/2018
Has the scope changed from the current contract? Yes, additional garages added
What is the current amount you are paying per month for these services 10. $51,980.00 What is the correct response date to submit a proposal? The date is list under the Submitting Quotes paragraph.
Dumpsters? We provide or they do. If we provide, where do we put them? Sizes? How often to be serviced? We provide a 3-yard dumpster- located in the Glory lot (Government lot).
Equipment needs: Sweeper/scrubber, power washer, etc. The VA cannot tell the vendor what equipment to use, so as long as the cleaning requirements as per the contract are being met. But if it were me personally, due to the size of the garages, a sweeper, scrubber, power washer and an assortment of dusting equipment/tools would make things a lot easier as far as maintaining the garages. Plus, it would cut your cleaning time way down then if you were to use only hand-held cleaning tools.
Clean Bulkhead? What is the Bulkhead? A bulkhead is a wall. The term is used to describe partition walls/load bearing walls aboard ship. Since the garages have solid concrete walls, and it is not a home or office etc. the term applies to the garages to.
What kind and how many barricades and signage do we need? If the vendor is going to be cleaning in an area using equipment such as a sweeper, scrubber or power washer then signage and barricades would be needed in the areas that are being cleaned. If the vendor wants to run a sweeper over the entire area of the garage(s), then they would need to stop by the T-7 Police Services and let them know. They can assist the vendor while they are sweeping.
"As needed" frequency for bulkheads and cleaning ceilings. Need to figure out how often we will need to do these items and how long they will take? Ceilings and bulkheads do not normally need to be cleaned weekly. It varies on frequency. If we get a lot of bad weather and high winds, it would need to be cleaned more often than usual. As was the case when Hurricane Irma came through. The main issue with the ceiling is spider webs/dust debris. As they appear, they need to be swept. As far as the bulkheads, same thing. However, sometimes people use the bulkheads as a “Potty”. So, the bulkheads would need daily inspections for issues such as this. AS a good faith estimate, I would say bimonthly on a thorough cleaning of ceilings and bulkheads. But again, if it does not need it, then it would not need a thorough cleaning. Again, spider webs/dust debris is the main issue.
