Statement of Need: Variable Frequency Drive’s (VFD) Solicitation 36C24818Q0566

Our James A. Haley Veteran Hospital located at 13000 Bruce B Downs Blvd Tampa FL 33612 has a need for equipment and installation of VFD’s (47 VFD’s in total) throughout the facility per the list below. The hospital currently uses Johnson controls BACnet to control VFD’s. The entire system is built around the Yaskawa VFD.

Salient characteristics (Brand or equal):

• Must be compatible with existing Johnson controls BACnet system

• The foot print (size and shape) of the VFD needs to be consistent, reliable and easy to work with at the hospital due to space limitations.

• Drives must have room to work inside with less space on the outside.

• Drives use contactors which are easy to replace if they go bad.

• All the interior parts are off the shelf except for the inverter which will have to be purchased from the manufacturer.

• Most of the internal components are plug and play.

• VFD come with an already built-in Johnson Controls BACnet, Metasys (N2) program that makes the VFD simply plug and play into the system.
