About this file

This is an amendment (0002) to solicitation 36C24725Q0315 that provides Questions and Answers related to a Medical Gas Inspections and Certification requirement for the Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 7 Network Contracting Activity in Augusta, GA.

The Q&A clarifies approximate quantities that must be verified during a scheduled site visit on 2/14/25 at 10:00 AM EST, including: 200 medical gas outlets/inlets, 120 medical gas zone valves, 32 medical gas area alarm panels, 32 master alarm panels, and 6 booms in the OR. The answers indicate that pictures of equipment cannot be provided in advance and must be verified during the site visit. Regarding repairs, soft wearable parts (O-rings, labeling) would be included in the base pricing, while hard parts (faceplates, gauges, transducers) can be quoted separately with recommendations as needed.

RFQ-36C24725Q0315 – Medical Gas Inspections and Certification

Questions and Answers

1. Total count of medical gas outlets/inlets?

Approximately 200 but must be verified during site visit.

2. Total count of medical gas zone valves?

Approximately 120 but must be verified during site visit.

3. Total count of medical gas area alarm panels?

Approximately 32 but must be verified during site visit.

4. Total count of master alarm panels?

Approximately 32, but must be verified during site visit.

5. Medical Air and Medical Vacuum Pumps; provide pictures of the control panel tags and pump/compressor tags. To include: model #, serial #, HP, and configuration. (This is needed to accurately quote maintenance). Most are listed but the Hitachi info listed is for a compressor, not a system so this would not be sufficient while quoting.

We cannot provide pictures at this time. It is suggested to be present during site visit to verify.

6. For the annual repairs, we can estimate soft wearable parts such as O-rings and labeling, but hard parts that get broken such as front assemblies (faceplates), gauges, and transducers are too expensive to provide a budget number per year when we have no idea the state of the existing system. For the purpose of this solicitation would the repair of soft wearable parts be included, and hard parts be allowed to be quoted separately as needed?

Repair would be included. Hard parts quote separately with recommendations.

7. Can we obtain photos of the source equipment plates?

We can not release photos at this time. It is recommended to be present for site walkthrough on 2/14/25.

8. How many booms are there in the OR? (It seems boom inspections are a part of the solicitation).

Approx Six, but this will have to be verified during the site visit.

9. Will there be a site visit scheduled for this requirement?

Yes, site visit is 2/14/25 at 10:00 AM EST.
