Request for Information (RFI) Solicitation # 36C24718Q0418 – CBOC Medical Courier Services
1. The Statement of Work mentions delivery occurring within 24 hours. Is that referring to delivery response time for the emergency instances?
Once items, as referenced in 5.1.3 (medical records, supplies, mail, etc.) have been received by the contractor, delivery should be made within 24 hours to the appropriate location.
Please refer to Section 5.1.3 – “The contractor shall deliver medical records and inter-office mail as required. Office supplies and medical supplies shall be delivered routinely once a week or upon an emergency basis when necessary. Delivery will be made to the appropriate CBOC within 24 hours. Weight capacity shall not exceed 50 lbs.”
2. What days/times should we be prepared to receive emergency requests? Are there set days and/or time ranges, or could it be 24/7?
Request will be within normal business hours of the CBOC, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
3. Item 1 listed under OFFER SUBMISSION on the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Notice states offeror must provide documentation that they are licensed by the state of South Carolina to provide courier services in the applicable areas. Is it required that we submit the actual approval with our response, or just the intent to obtain?
In order to be considered technically acceptable for award, each offeror must provide documentation that they are licensed by the state of South Carolina to provide courier services in the applicable areas identified in the performance work statement.
4. Is a full-size car adequately sized for your requirements?
That would be determined by the courier. The VA does not specify vehicles. Consider referencing the Biohazard Medical transport cooler/tote (inside dimensions of approximately 10” wide X 18” long X 8” high) in questions 5 & 6 below.
5. What size cooler is necessary/required?
That would be determined by the courier. The VA does not specify cooler sizes. Consider a Biohazard Medical transport cooler/tote with inside dimensions of approximately 10” wide X 18” long X 8” high.
6. How many coolers are necessary/required?
That would be determined by the courier. The VA does not specify the number required, however a minimum of 3 Biohazard Medical transport cooler/totes per site would be recommended to allow for site preparation, pick-up/transportation and Medical Center delivery.
7. Is dry ice needed? If so, will it be provided by the VA or contractor?
The VA utilizes Ice-Packs and will be provided by the VA.
8. Will locks/keys for coolers be provided by VA or contractor?
Locks and keys will not be provided by the VA.
