Question 4: Work Award Number: Could you share the work award number associated with the current contract? 36C244-20-C-0123
Question 5: Rough Order of Magnitude: Can you provide a rough order of magnitude for the project cost, such as an estimated range (e.g., 3 million to 4 million)? Unknown – Based on solicitations
Question 6: Budget Constraints: Are there any specific budget constraints or financial ceilings for this contract that we should consider in our proposal? No known constraints.
Question7 : This question is for clarification in reference to the VA Pittsburgh transportation solicitation.
The PWS in section 7 states minimum 25 passenger capacity, however section 13.1.2 states minimum 20 passengers. Please clarify. The request is for a minimum capacity of 25 passengers.
Question 8: Do you have the address for the parking lot the staff will be picked up from? Not at this time. This contract item is currently out for bid.
Question 9: Is there a schedule for times to pick up and drop off? 0500 – 1730 hours, Mon-Fri (no weekends or holidays).
-Question 10: How many staff members will ride this shuttle? Estimate up to approximately 200.
Question 11: Do you need a 15 passenger or 25 passenger shuttle bus? This will depend on how frequently the busses will run to and from. Current contract has multiple busses so there is always a bus at the lot for employees during these hours to expedite employees getting to work. There are also busses staged in close proximity for employees that may have to leave the hospital mid day to expedite their arrival back to their vehicle.
Question 12: How many buses/vehicles will be used? It would take at least 3 vehicles with a drive time of roughly 4-8 minutes. (you would need to determine what it take to complete the requirement).
Question 13: Can we work with a mini-motor coach (more comfortable, spacious, restroom, luggage), up to 40 pax? This may be excessive in size for the need.
Question 14: What is the location of the off-site parking lot? The parking lot will be within two miles from the Pittsburgh VAMC.
Question 15: Can the vehicles be parked at the VAMC overnight? No
Question 16: Can the vehicles be parked at the off-site parking lot overnight? No
Question 17: What security is provided at the off-site parking lot? Cameras, attendants, card reader door access
Question 18: Are there any turn radius, height clearance, or other restrictions on the shuttle bus route? None
Question 19: Do any of the vehicles need to be ADA-compliant? Not necessary, handicap parking for employees is provided at the Pittsburgh VAMC.
Question 20: What is the distance from the parking garage to the hospital? The parking garage will be located within a 2 mile driving distance to the hospital.
Question 21: How does the on-demand service during the non-peak hours work? Do they just call the driver's cell or something or is it scheduled in some capacity? There are sections of the PWS that explain communication. Please review those sections. The company needs to provide their drivers with means of communication (phone). Currently, employees call a designated number and they dispatch the driver either to the lot or the hospital.
Question 22: Lastly, we would also like clarity on the shuttle's start date if possible. Is the hard start date to begin the shuttle service December 21st? The start date will be 3/21/2023
