B.4 STATEMENT OF NEED

1. INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND:

The Wilmington VA Medical Center (WVAMC) located at 1601 Kirkwood Highway, is requesting the procurement of the InnoWave PCF Sonic Irrigator Thermal Disinfection and Robotic Program and components. WVAMC is expanding its surgical department and adding the Da Vinci Surgical System which is a robotic surgical system that uses a minimally invasive surgical approach. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, (460) Wilmington, Delaware, hereby referred to as the VAMC Wilmington (460), is seeking the acquisition of a new InnoWave PCF Sonic Irrigator Thermal Disinfection and Robotic Program to include accessories and installation. (4) Installation

(5) IW PCF Xi Multi Basket Hose Set (QTY x 1)Basket for the Innowave PCF specifically designed to hold daVinci Xi Endowrist Instruments and Staplers

WVAMC is requesting the brand name model InnoWave PCF Sonic Irrigator Thermal

Disinfection & Robotic Program and accessories to ensure the medical facility has the correct equipment to effectively sterilize and clean the reusable medical equipment of the daVinci Surgical Robot.

The InnoWave PCF Sonic Irrigator is an ultrasonic cleaner that provides a systematic cleaning process and allows reprocessing with a smaller footprint. The sonic activity targets and removes exterior soils from small crevices and irregular surfaces. Sonic irrigation pushes a charged jet of chemistry which dislodges and flushes soils from intricate internal channels. The high-impingement features a deluge wash to prevent the re-depositing of blood and other soils and six integrated spray nozzles help to reduce the risk of additional redeposition. Most importantly, it provides assurance and safety through Thermal Disinfection. Integrated record keeping and easy export capture key cycle parameters which reduce audit-related stress for the Sterile Processing Service.

Additional features:

- Quick recognition of cycle progress from the touchscreen control

- Baskets click into the tank for a secured connection
