RFQ 36C24218Q9460 Amendment 1 Vendor Questions and Government Answers

1. Will the Contracting Office please add a CLIN for the price of compactor installation? (B.5 Price/Cost Schedule, from the Solicitation, page 17-18 of 79.)

Answer: This CLIN is not being added. Include this cost in the detailed price quote.

2. Will the Contracting Office please add a CLIN for the price of compactor rental, for each compactor? If the VAMC’s requirement for compactor equipment changes sometime during the anticipated 60-month contract, this will make it much easier to modify the contract, and maximize value for the Department of Veterans Affairs. (B.5 Price/Cost Schedule, from the Solicitation, page 17-18 of 79.)

Answer: This CLIN is not being added. The contractor’s quote should reflect one monthly fee that includes all containers.

3) Will the Contracting Office please add a CLIN for the price of open top container rental, for each open top container? If the VAMC’s requirement for open top container equipment changes sometime during the anticipated 60-month contract, this will make it much easier to modify the contract, and maximize value for the Department of Veterans Affairs. (B.5 Price/Cost Schedule, from the Solicitation, page 17-18 of 79.)

Answer: This CLIN is not being added. The contractor’s quote should reflect one monthly fee that includes all containers.

4) Can an open top container be used at Building 200/Loading Dock Area for collection of Autoclave Waste? If not, please describe, in detail, the type of container the VA requires for Autoclave Waste at Building 200/Loading Dock Area. (D.1 Attachment A, Dumpsters, from the Solicitation, page 38 of 79.)

Answer: The Government wants a 30-yard open container that will be hooked up to our autoclave machine.

5) Please clarify whether each of the 4 compactors is: 1) a Self-Contained 30-yard Compactor; or, 2) a Stationary Compactor with a 30-yard Receiver Box. (D.1 Attachment A, Dumpsters, from the Solicitation, page 38 of 79.)

Answer: They are stationary compactors with 30 yard receiver box.

6) What type of recyclable material is collected in the 8-yard containers at Building 200 and Building 92? (D.1 Attachment A, Dumpsters, from the Solicitation, page 38 of 79.)

Answer: The type of recyclable material is Plastic bottles

7) Certified disposal sites/Landfills charge disposal fees on a per ton basis. Since disposal fees are a major cost component of a solid waste contract, can you please provide historical tonnage information, along with the number of hauls, separately, for each of the Roll Off Compactor and Open Top containers for the last 12 months?

Answer: See 2017-2018 totals below:
