DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this Amendment is to post questions and responses and provide a copy of the original solicitation.
I. Questions and Responses
1. When does the installation need to be done? Over the weekend
1. Will new batteries be in the same location?
1. They will have to be installed in the same location.
1. Batteries do not have additional rack space.
1. Is the equipment on raised floor? Yes 4-6 inches off the floor.
1. What is the interconnection between cabinets like?
3. The power under the floor and the networking is above.
3. Commercial power comes from above (480 V)
1. What is the power distribution? The distribution 120/208
1. Is the output of UPS to existing PDU all cabling? No Bus Bars.
1. Supply chain issues may affect the Period of Performance.
The period of performance dates are flexible but we need to know what the delays may be.
1. In regard to the cabling from UPS to PDU, is the cabling information available and can that cabling be re-used?
The cabling may probably be re-used if it is long enough. Contractor would have to verify based on size at time of service.
1. How afar is the PDU to the UPS rack? Roughly 14 feet from PDU to UPS rack. Based on 2-foot floor tiles.
1. The BladeUPS cabinet is 81" high. What is the height of door for the service elevator and each door between the dock and the server room. If the door/elevator height is not sufficient, we must bring an additional piece of equipment to allow us to tilt the UPS cabinet to get it in the room.
Our location is on the first floor and all doors from the Dock to the location room 147X are tall doors specifically to allow server racks in and out. The doors are more then 81 inches tall.
1. In Section 3.0 Technical Requirements on page 5 of 60, the last paragraph states the UPS capacity should be 48 kW with N+1 redundancy. However, under Section 4.0 Recommendation on page 6, paragraph 3 it shows the UPS capacity at 60 kW with N+1 redundancy. Which is correct? Note, it is important because the 60 kW solution will most likely drive you into a second cabinet whereas the 48 kW might fit into a single cabinet. If 48 kW is the maximum capacity and we can fit everything into a single cabinet, we can keep your equipment costs down.
The requirement is 48Kw that will sustain power for 10 minutes. We have 3 Rack space to accommodate the UPS if the Bypass panel is being reused. If power cannot be maintained for 10 minutes, then a 60Kw may be needed. If all the batteries and other devices are maintained in 3 racks.
1. We are removing a UPS cabinet and (2) battery cabinets. We will be installing a UPS cabinet and possibly a second cabinet for batteries. That leaves a 24" gap in your row, possibly a 48" gap if we can fit the configuration into a single cabinet. I notice you are using overhead distribution for data cabling and possibly for power cabling as well. Do you want us to supply a bridge between the cabinets to support the cabling in the gap?
Yes, a Bridge will be needed to support the Network cables that are connected to the patch panel directly to the right of the UPS
1. Section 8.0 Performance Period states," The Contractor shall complete the work required under this SOW to accommodate the Government within 60 days of contract award." The current climate of supply chain issues affecting the global economy has driven lead times for the Eaton Powerware BladeUPS to 12-14 weeks. Depending on how long it takes for the contract to be awarded, that may change for the worse. Will this be an issue?
The contract states work will complete 60 days after contract award. You will need to speak to the Contracting Officer to explain any delays and request a No Cost Extension.
1. The VA provided some one-line diagrams for the IT center distribution. There is no mention as to what piece of equipment feeds this UPS or what the equipment’s nomenclature is. Please advise on this.
CSCO UPS is fed from EMDP (Emergency Distribution Panel), BREAKER 1 (Room 166C)
