Q&A’s:

Question: Is a technician, who is certified by GE, required at all servicing visits? Are any technicians, or other contractor employees, allowed to attend in addition to the certified technician?

Answer: Yes, a technician, who is certified by GE, is required at all servicing visits for UPS system, power distribution switchgears and battery disconnect. However, additional contractor employees may also attend at the contractor’s discretion. Example – the certified technician along with a helper is allowable.

Any additional rates may be quoted and will increase the total contract price.

Any technicians can work and inspect Battery system as long as technician is certified in that field of work.

Question: With regards to completing the pricing schedule, how are the blanks filled in. Can additional hours be added?

Answer: The contractor is to propose a labor rate for the Time and Material (T&M) CLIN’s for regular work hour rate, after work hour rate and weekend hour rate. Any respondent may also add/adjust hours and add other rates at the discretion of the respondent. However, this may increase the total price of the contract.

Fee’s: If any fees are to be billed by the awardee on the T&M CLIN’s, these fee’s must be quoted and incorporated into the contract. Note – any added fees will increase the effective value of any material T&M CLIN’s.

Response BS: Any fees, material charges, other charges like shipping, etc. has to be included in time and material CLIN’s.

Preventative Maintenance CLIN: This is a per job CLIN. The respondent is to quote this CLIN’s quantity and price on a per job basis. If the respondent would like to add additional CLIN’s based on different preventative maintenance visits, based on OEM recommendations, this is allowable and will be included in the total contract value.

Contractor is asked to perform initial preventive maintenance of all three (3) UPS units as part of contract. Preventive maintenance work shall indicate manufacturer (GE) recommended and approved material and labor rate cost to perform work. Three (3) UPS preventive maintenance visit at beginning of contract shall include monthly visit so monthly service shall not apply.

Question: How many UPS units do you have? Switch gear? Batteries to maintain?

Answer: There are total of three (3) UPS units. Switchgears are listed in PWS. There are three (3) train each with 60 batteries with four cell each and individual disconnect breaker, so total of 180 batteries with 720 cell and three (3) disconnect breaker.

Question: How many Cellwatch units on the Eaton UPS systems do you have?

Answer: One Cellwatch system with two (2) substation monitors all batteries.

Question: What is the k VA of the UPS units?

Answer: Each UPS unit is 750 KVA (three total units)

Question: How any PMS do you need per year or monthly?

Answer: Per OEM guidance.

Question: Do you have maintenance bypass cabinets, ATS switches, BMS or a SCADA system?
