Q.1 Considering that individuals who use Online classes or Distance Learning classes will be allowed tutoring, is it possible to offer them Live online tutoring using Audio, Video, Chatting, & Whiteboard? It would seem prudent that these individuals are familiar with such services using the Internet.
A.1 I would presume so however, not all students have their systems programmed and set up the same way so I can not give an accurate answer.
Q.2 Based on the multiple subjects that may be requested and for services to be offered Statewide, can online services be offered to participating Veterans?
A.2 Yes Q.3 Due to weather, commuting restrictions, or other physical barriers, it may be difficult for some Veterans to receive face to face tutoring. In such cases, can online services be approved?
A.3 Yes. However, some students will prefer face to face services. In those cases, we will ask up front for the face to face services and then if they cannot be provided, contracting will reach back out to the VRC to see if online tutoring services will be acceptable. In some cases, face to face is a necessity and if those services cannot be performed by the contractor, VA may have to reach out to another contractor to see if face to face services can be provided.
Q.4 Because services are needed on a statewide basis, can an option of online, face to face, or a hybrid of such services be used?
A.4 Yes however that will be up to the student and the VRC.
Q.5. We are a tutoring company with over 2,000,000 hours of face to face and online tutoring experience. If needed, we would be willing to do a live demo to show the benefits of the online option. Is that something you would entertain?
A.5 I don’t see where a live demo would be necessary.
Q.6 During the IDIQ, it was identified that this contract may be between $100,000 - $250,000. Is that still the case? If the contract is capped at 600 hours at this point, will there be an opportunity to expand the total hours if the services are being utilized by the Veterans and the initial funds allocated are used up yet there is still time left under the contract?
A.6 That will depend on how many contractors will be awarded under this IDIQ.
Q.7 If such services have been offered in the past, can you please share any such data? Total allocated, total paid out, # of hours used, etc.
A.7 Not at this point since we are still in an active contract.
Q.8 Is there a minimum anticipated amount of hours of tutoring?
A.8 No Q.9 Is there a minimum guarantee of hours to be billed?
A.9 No Q.10 Are there any demographics relating numbers of students to a particular county or geographical area?
A.10 This can vary depending strictly on the needs of a veteran.
Q.11 Are we able to bill in the event of a student no show?
A.11 No Q.12 Is there a requirement for encrypted transmission since no HIPAA or PII data will be transmitted? If so, what are the approved encryption systems?
A.12 No
