About this file
This is a grant application template for the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) FY27 Buy Local Grant Program. The document serves as Attachment A to the grant proposal and requires applicants to outline their project summary, specific deliverables, and itemized budget. Applicants must provide a brief project description of 2-4 sentences and identify all major goals and initiatives with associated costs and quantifiable deliverables. The template requests detailed information on project activities, timelines, and outcomes that support the Buy Local program objectives.
The budget narrative requires applicants to itemize expenses across eight categories: personnel (with level of effort and justification), fringe benefits, travel (with destination, expense type, and purpose), equipment (general purpose items exceeding $5,000 per unit), supplies (under $5,000 per unit), contractual or consultant services, other expenses (meetings, communications, advertisements, data collection), and indirect costs. Applicants must provide a Federally Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate or justify their selected rate and include matching funds information. The template includes a budget summary table where applicants calculate subtotals for each expense category and arrive at the total project amount, distinguishing between requested grant funds and applicant match contributions. All expenses must be directly associated with Buy Local program activities and comply with applicable cost limitations and organizational policies.
