About this file
This document is Addendum #1 for Fort Lewis College's Request for Proposals (RFP) for Project No. 25109, covering Strategic Communications & Marketing and Communications Organizational Review/Planning Support. The addendum provides comprehensive responses to 57 questions from potential bidders, clarifying key details about the project scope, which includes two primary components: a comprehensive organizational assessment of the marketing and communications team and strategic communications support for the incoming President. The contract is anticipated to last approximately one year, with the organizational review expected to be completed within 6 months. The college is seeking firms to help assess current operations, improve communication efficiencies, and develop thought leadership strategies.
Funding for the project has been appropriated, though specific budget details are not disclosed. The college indicates a preference for vendors with experience in higher education strategic communications, particularly those with expertise supporting first-time presidents during leadership transitions. Fort Lewis College is open to either a single vendor handling both project components or splitting the work between two partners. Evaluation criteria will include conformance to RFP format, demonstrated experience with strategic communications and marketing review, experience with leadership transitions, proposed approach and methodology, team qualifications, cost, client references, and overall reputation. The college has a newly adopted 5-year strategic plan and is currently utilizing various communication tools and platforms, including Slate, EMMA, Omnilerts, Meltwater, and others.
