1. Who is the approving authority? Is this an internal review or is this to be done by GSA or another agency?

Answer: The BEP is the contracting agency.

2. The current fire pump has a relief valve that ties back into the test header/flow meter line. NFPA-20 recommends that the relief valve be piped to a point that it can freely discharge. The current configuration allows for the relief pressure to be piped back to that of the suction into the two (2) fire pumps. Is the intention to keep this same configuration or should the piping be determined to discharge this relief valve to a point that shall allow the water to discharge freely?

Answer: Yes, keep this same configuration.

3. The two (2) current valves on the flow meter are not monitored by the fire alarm system, should these be connected to the fire alarm system as normally closed valves? If so, these valves should be replaced with a normally closed monitoring valve. If the intent is not to monitor these valves, should they be locked and chained.

Answer: No, do not replace the valves. No, do not lock the valves.

4. Please confirm the date of the calibration of the flow meter if this information is not readily available is the intent to replace this valve?

Answer: The date of the calibration of the flow meter is not available. No, do not replace the valve.

Answer: Replace jockey pump and controller.
