About this file

This is Addendum No. One, dated April 3, 2026, issued by Jackson County, Georgia, modifying the original Jackson County Courthouse Security Renovation contract documents dated October 20, 2025. The addendum addresses modifications to architectural drawings and specifications for the courthouse entrance security renovation project, which includes demolition of two nonstructural columns and two walls, installation of a new ballistic-resistant security booth, electrical work, and low voltage systems. A mandatory pre-bid conference was held with an attached sign-in sheet. The addendum provides clarifications on multiple bid questions and responses, including specifications for door hardware at a raised platform (wood door with hollow metal frame and anchors), metal handrails (new specification section 055213 for pipe and tube railings), metal diagonal bracing for the PLAM countertop (heavy-duty steel triangular brackets supporting 300 lbs), and ballistic glass specifications (Safe Haven SW600BR product with UL752 Level 5 acceptable rating). Construction work hours are limited to regular courthouse business hours, with contractors to provide the number of Saturdays needed for demolition or power interruption in their bid. Contractors are responsible for permit fees (reimbursable by owner), background checks for all personnel, and verification of existing conditions including rebar in the first-floor slab and existing stained wood trim on columns.

The addendum requires shop drawings for cold-formed metal framing, certification from the Architectural Woodwork Institute for the millwork contractor, and coordination with the owner's low voltage vendor regarding network and switch equipment, Avigilon video software systems, and relocation of security devices. Revised architectural sheets (A1.11, A1.21, A3.11, and A9.11) and electrical sheet (E2.01) are included with clouded revisions. A new door hardware schedule effective April 3, 2026, replaces the original schedule. Currently, there are no owner-furnished or owner-installed items, though contractors must coordinate with the owner if such items become necessary. The project start date and contract duration will be coordinated between the owner and the successful contractor. Bidders must submit an AIA Document A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement prior to bidding and will be notified of approval by the architectural reprographic agency to receive contract documents.
