Statement of Work for the Integration of NASA Turbulence Sensors onto Vanilla UAS NAWCAD FY23 Naval Innovation Science and Engineering (NISE) project, 219TT-23-011, ASEW: SPARKY and the NAWCAD Avionics Engineering Department is addressing urgent need statements from both U.S. Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) and Joint Interagency Task Force – South (JIATF-South).

The requirement is for integrating NASA turbulence acoustic sensors onto the Vanilla UAS wing surfaces for tracking atmospheric anomalies. A primary and backup (2 configurations) including all operating hardware/software, interface control documents, fabrication/modifications, and airworthiness certification for NASA sensors. Two (2) modular sensor pods (hard point) for various sensor types with associated interface documents and weight and balance configuration data.

1. Design and prepare integration of three (3) NASA acoustic sensors for tracking atmospheric anomalies from Vanilla unmanned air vehicle system. Provide power and data to/from central processing unit.

2. Evaluate these systems at multiple infrasonic and audible frequencies at various aircraft locations.

3. Consult with NASA on element locations, UAS integration, data collection and interpretation/analysis.

4. Collect data by using at acoustic sensors. Verify that source of collected acoustic data is that of an unmanned air vehicle system.

5. Obtain FAA certification for airframe modifications.

6. Provide two (2) modular hard point sensor pods with all structural components.

7. Provide installation design and submit a final report to NAWCAD
