CHECKPOINT 111 BACKUP GENERATOR
CHECKPOINT 111

1. BACKGROUND
Current and proposed conditions at the El Centro Sector Highway 111 Checkpoint are such that a facility backup generator is required in order to continue mission essential operations in the event of a complete power failure. Primary power to the checkpoint is provided by the City of Indio. No secondary power source is in place.
2. SCOPE
The Customs and Border Protection/ Office of Administration, FM&E Border Patrol Facilities and Tactical Infrastructure PMO requires a contractor’s services to furnish and install a back up generator, and open transition Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) that provides the entire facility 120/230 volt, 60 Hz. single phase – 400 amp electrical service.
The ATS will need to switch to the backup generator within 10 seconds of a complete power failure. ATS needs to switch back to line source and generator needs to perform an automatic shut-down once primary power has been restored. For ease of use and environmental concerns, a natural gas powered generator is preferred but not required. The Generator fuel tank will be sized to provide 100% of the power required to operate the Checkpoint for a minimum of 24 hours. Contractor will be responsible to meet all Federal, State and local code and provide design criteria for fuel storage.
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, parts, equipment, transportation, bonding, licenses, permits, certifications and management necessary to carry out and complete, in every detail, the work included in this SOW.
