Statement of Work

For

Automotive Tires 1.

BACKGROUND:

Tucson Sector Fleet Operations Branch (TSFOB) has identified a need for automotive tires purchased in bulk from approved vendors for all stations and units located in Tucson Sector. The current procedure in place calls for the stations to either purchase a few tires or submit bulk orders purchased with the bulk parts fleet card assigned to Tucson Sector. The limit on the bulk parts fleet card and often the supply and demand at the stations is more than what can be submitted on the individual bulk orders. TSFOB looks to streamline the process of procuring the automotive tires. This would allow for fewer transactions, less variance in sizes and types of tires, and increase the buying power of Tucson Sector resulting in a substantial cost savings for fleet repairs.

2.

SCOPE:

It is the intent of TSFOB to procure the tires detailed in Section 5.1 in order to accommodate Tucson Sector fleet repairs. The tires will be drop shipped direct to the stations (addresses listed in Section 5.2) and the waste tires picked up from the stations. Additionally, all tires listed in Section 5.1 must have side walls reinforced with three-ply polyester to help protect the tire from puncture and bruises causing the tire to blow-out. All tires must be new. Quantities and locations will vary monthly and can range between (50) fifty and (1000) one thousand tires in total per month. Tires must meet or exceed the specifications of the tires listed in Section 5.1.

3.

APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS:

Commercial/Industry standards shall be used as applicable.

4.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

The vendor shall complete the following tasks to provide the equipment outlined below.

4.1 Deliver.

The vendor shall deliver equipment outlined in Section 5.1 to various locations outlined in Section 5.2. All applicable taxes, delivery costs and waste tire disposal fees shall be included in the costs of the tires. Upon receipt of order from the Contracting Office or Tucson Sector Fleet personnel, the vendor shall deliver the ordered items within (7) seven business days and must provide delivery date at time of order. The deliveries will be made Monday through Friday, except on Federal Holidays, between the hours of 6am to 2:30pm. If the vendor cannot meet the required delivery date or times listed, the vendor must contact the TSFOB Point of Contact (POC) immediately so other arrangements can be negotiated; such as GOV transportation or renegotiated delivery date.

4.2 Waste Tire Removal.

At the time of delivery, the vendor shall pick up any tires previously delivered by the vendor which have been consequently deemed as unsafe by Tucson Sector fleet personnel either by standard wear and tear or by road hazards encountered.

4.3 Manufacturer Defect.

All tires found to have a manufacturer defect will be replaced by the vendor. In the incidence of defects caused by the manufacturer (recall), the vendor is to disclose the defect immediately to Tucson Sector Fleet personnel and is to arrange for pick up and replacement of all affected tires. Full replacement will be given for each tire regardless of the amount of wear on the tire. Vendor will be responsible for replacing all tires that are covered under warranty.
